Re: Tamiya Putty
I'm not sure if it will work as well with Tamiya putty, but fingernail polish remover (acetone) works very well with other brands. It might work here, too. Just be sure to have decent ventilation.

Re: Books. What are you reading?
The Boys from Brazil and Watership Down are both great reads. Speaking of Ira Levin, I just picked up the dvds of the original Rosemary's Baby and the original The Stepford Wives. It's been ages since I've seen either of them. Now to go through the boxes and dig out my old copies of the books for co...

Re: Examples of scratch built stone dungeon walls?
Depending on the effect you're looking for, this thread may be of help. Just carve stone shapes instead of the straight lines for brickwork. It's one the best, cheapest, and easiest I've seen. http://theclubhouse1.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69169&hilit=per+olav It may be for a smaller s...

Tim, I don't know if you're still looking for a Vincent Price bio to read, Calvin Beck's "Heroes of the Horrors" has a great section on him (along with Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney (Sr. & Jr.) and Peter Lorre). http://www.amazon.com/Heroes-horrors-Calvin-Thomas-Beck/dp/002508...

I usually get mine from these guys: WASCO Wildlife Artist Supply Company

They're good for both Magic Sculpt and Aves.

Re: BOTL Ship scatchbuild/bash
Very cool! And great idea using the mousse canister for the hull. Love seeing the in progress shots, too. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration. I have a couple of empty Avon shampoo bottles that I've been saving for something similar. They make me think of the Kilrathi capital ships from the movie...

Re: Texturing syrofoam
For a more random pattern, you could also use an old toothbrush to spray the acetone.
Just dip the brush, aim and run your thumb down the length of bristles to spray it on the Styrofoam. Wear vinyl or latex gloves, though, to avoid excessive contact with your skin.

Re: IS IT HALLOWEEN YET?
I turned our home into a "spider house" a few years ago. We were going to be getting new siding the following year so for Halloween I decided to cover the front of the house with spiders. I started October 1st by sticking on about 50 dime-sized spiders using my wifes glue dots from her car...
