Rest in peace DENIS McDOUGALL, a.k.a. dj53

#1 Post by Todd P. »

His daughter just let me know of Denis's passing. He was a friend, endlessly enthusiastic and optimistic, one of these people whose excitement for the hobby is contagious. He was the youngest 67-year-old I've ever known. I'm going to miss him and I know a lot of you are, too.

Godspeed Denis McDougall

I just got word of the passing of a longtime and dear modeling brother. Godspeed Denis McDougall. You were a super friend and an all around great person. I will miss your humor and enthusiasm for the hobby. I hope you are already working on some amazing model projects in the afterlife and loving every second of it. McDee, I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

For me, Mcdee was one of the guys I counted as a true, real-life friend in this community made up of people I rarely actually meet face to face. We came close to losing him in late 2018, but he hung on and remained an upbeat part of the hobby crowd. I'm going to miss him.

Oh, this is so sad. He's been around since I found modeling communities to hang around back in like 2000.

I met him a few times. The first time was at iHobby in Cleveland. And a couple times at WF.

I remember his sense-of-humour - always appreciated.

My sympathies to his friends (close & distant), and to his family.

I was actually looking for a picture of the Rubies CFTBL he had coming out of his kitchen sink to highlight his sense of humour. I was chuckling at some of his posts and thought I'd share.

I'm am so sorry to see this. Denis' experience, enthusiasm and energy for this hobby will be sorely missed. I never had the pleasure of meeting him. Maybe in the afterlife.
