Atlantis reissuing glow Aurora Mummy and Wolf Man

#1 Post by Todd P. »

Supposedly coming later this year, in glow versions. Should be from Aurora's original tooling.

Oh Yes... flood the markets even more...
And Ed Roth the remainder should be reissued.

Is that an objection?

I for one am delighted. These kits are getting almost difficult to find for a decent price. There's room in the market for one or two more runs before the tooling is retired once and for all.

Interestingly, both are being licensed by the Chaney estate. Does that mean no Universal license? If so, perhaps that opens the door for something else. Maybe the Lugosi estate could license Dracula despite that pendant that makes him the vampire from the movie? Could the Karloff estate license the Frankenstein Monster despite the trademark flat head?

I actually wouldn't mind buying and building another Mummy. It was one of my favorites as a kid. It was also the first monster model I built as an adult back around 1998, and I don't feel like I did it justice. I didn't know about dry-brushing with brushes back then, and ended up "sponge" painting it. The only thing I painted with a brush was the sand, the lettering and the blood.

SUWEEEEEET! 8)

Ive been recollecting the old Aurora monsters and painting them in black and white. My 1st time with the old ghouls was the square box glow series and its been fun giving them a 3rd go!
But this time its mostly about the boxes. 8)

Todd any chance the MOTM wolfman could see light of day again? 8)
Travelers to unknown regions would be well-advised to take along the family dog. He could just save you from entering the wrong gate.

I haven't seen any indications that it might. The way I generally get information about upcoming releases is to watch CultTVman's updates.

My guess is that the only hope of seeing that one again is if Atlantis got the tooling with its big Revell purchase, but I've never seen any mention of that being so. I doubt there's any chance of the tooling being re-created if it doesn't exist anymore.
