Well . . . I'll be honest . . . I'm guessing that even Mr. Gervais can overstretch his genius.

Disappointed with episodes 1 through 5 - they in no way compared to ANY of the 12 episodes from the 1st 2 seasons.

S03E01 in particular was a real letdown, but the others at least had a single moment of brilliance:
    • • S03E02 - The "Swingers" interview
      • S03E03 - The Cafe scene (man with baby)
      • S03E04 - The directions to Australia and the last line
      • S03E05 - The hospital scene (especially the sports suggestions)

But then along comes S03E06 and saves the day. Really got me in the feels.

Oh OH!! thank you!

Bcuz I felt the SAME EXACT way as I watched the 1st 5 eps!! Just were
not enjoyable to watch at all!! (except for the pub & Dad's ashes scene).

So happy the old lady didn't pass away... (had seen a trailer and him on the bench
alone and thought, NOOOOOOO!!)

The last episode saved it for me. But yes, seasons 1 & 2 are much better!

Season 3 tied things up nicely! Still had that wonderful balance of laughing and heartbreak. The scene with the two sisters being interviewed as one was receiving chemo treatment had me in tears. Still light years more bold and truthful (and still funny) than most gutless American series.
