S03E02 - "The Mines of Mandalore"

Much MUCH better! Actually - DAMN good fun and a really interesting & entertaining watch. Clever, inventive, and with plenty of little added builds as the episode progressed.

Bo-Katan's ship is REALLY cool - much more stylish than Mando's (I still preferred his original ship to his current one).

BTW - anyone else get "Morlock" vibes for some characters and "General Grievous" for another? :)

So this latest episode just proves how utterly STUPID this rule about
never removing your helmet was to begin with!! (I got suspicious when
a 13 yr old gets his helmet and you ask yourself, 'what happens when his
head grows'?) But now...

"How do we eat" "Oh, you go off on your own and remove your helmet."

Wha???! After all that BS about asking me if I ever took it off and I had
to get my arse to the home world with possibly TOXIC MOFO AIR, get dragged
down by a f'ing Morigorwhateverhumongussaurain and now you tell me I
can take it off to f'ing EAT??! <shaking head> Sheesh!

I didn't post about S03E03 or S03E04 yet soooooooooo . . .

I really liked E03 while I was watching it, at least in part because it was dealing with "supporting" characters. BUT, after it had finished and I thought about it, I realised how bloody stupid the whole story was . . . makes no sense at-all (unless I'm missing character/franchise background details that would explain it).

And despite the monstersies in E04, I thought this episode was badly written (and/or directed) too - aside from the rather nice twist towards the beginning that made me smile :)

I just wish they would move some of the budget from the special effects teams to the story department.

Still loving that end-music and all the artwork though - amazing stuff! =D> =D> =D>

have to admit that I enjoy waiting for the paintings at the end, most of all!
Would love to get screen shots of some of them for wallpaper on my monitor!

Let me know which ones you want and I can send them to you.

I think they are also reproduced in the 2 books they have released so far (not that that helps regarding screensavers).

4 felt like nothing but exposition. I don't know how many times they had to explain what the plan was and what they can and can not do.

Forgot to add that I thought it was awesome they added Ahmed Best as a kick @$$ Jedi. The crap the fans put him through always made me feel bad for him.
Happy he's getting some love now.

Yeah - I was surprised to find out that they are not supposed to take off their helmets with others present - it was only hinted at in this episode, but Buc worked it out for us - he said "That's the way it is" (or something like that).

If the actor is getting positive feedback that's great - but besides filling in a bit of Grogu's backstory, I thought the part he was in was a bit of a throwaway "chase scene".

Still love that custom build/bash of yours.

latest ep: have to admit, I was on the edge of my seat when the Armorer
called 'Starbuck'* to her anvil area and told her to remove her helmet and that
changes need to happen!!

I'm shouting at the Armorer (the TV) "YES!! Take off your helmet as well!! OFF!! Take it
off too!!!"

but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo! (sheesh! what a missed opportunity that was!)

*can't remember her name and too lazy to look up :)

S03E05 - "The Pirate"

Hmmmm . . . another wasted episode for us. E02 is still the fave from this season so far. E03 would be up there too if it wasn't for the nonsensical script.

The other 3 (E01, E04, E05) have just been - well . . . boring/irritating to a degree (although neither of those words really convey my thoughts properly).

"The armorer" has always annoyed the heck out of me, and I find Carl Weathers' & Katee Sackhoff's acting to be pretty wooden throughout this entire series, so they didn't exactly help with this episode :)

They really do need better writing and/or directing.

S03E06 - "Guns for Hire"

Well well well . . . just as I was becoming disaffected with the entire franchise (that should be another meaning of "disenfranchised" :P ), we get this one WHICH I LOVED.

THIS IS THE WAY (to write entertaining Star Wars stories).

Katee Sackhoff redeemed herself (she was actually allowed to act!) . . . and I spent the entire episode thinking "damn that guy looks like Jack Black", because the character sounded NOTHING like him . . . only to find out it WAS him at the end #-o  (great voicework!)

Also loved the guest star from the future

Best (so far) of the season.

Felt like a pretty lackluster season. I didn't even know EP 8 was the season ender, still waiting for more.

Sort of agree.
    • 1) Yeah - definitely the worst of the 3 seasons - very "meh" overall.
      2) I'm NOT really waiting for more :)
Part of the problem for me (along with some of the storylines) was the absence of interesting supporting characters  Gina Carano, Bill Burr, Timothy Olyphant et-al.

It kept me watching - but only out of the hope it would get better (and because I get to watch for free).

Maybe next season will be better . . . does that class as a new hope? Image

agree... continued watching, but 'meh'

and that last fighting scene was extremely difficult to follow!
