Geez - how bloody slow am I! (?!) - I thought it was odd there was no thread for this (until you resurrected it).

Yep - has my "up-front" vote for movie of 2016 based on what has been shared so far.

I've been following this project since before it was actually an official project.

I am holding out hope that they aren't showing all the good stuff in the trailers.
With the fact that Ryan Reynolds just can't shut up, I am hoping this movie will just be wall-to-wall over-the-top badness!

Ditto and ditto. The "leaked" test footage pulled us in from the get-go.

The tough part of this is figuring out how I can get my 14 1/2 year-old Son into a showing (still not sure on rules & regs in Canada) :-k

We'll work it out

I'm surprised this seems to generate so little interest here.
My FB newsfeed has been blowing up with stuff about this for over a month now.
Then again, with all the viral promoting the movie, and Ryan, has been doing, that is no wonder.

One week to go.

Counting the hours like a john counting streetwalkers on Davie Street . . . can't wait to get in there.

R rated in the States with a possible NC-17 cut on BR disc as I have read. FSK 16 in Germany UNCUT and maybe an 18er version ot the Directors cut. Hoping for!

Nah.
All the hype is fun!
I think Ryan is the most excited about it.

Got 2 new ones today for Valentines Day.

Tickets for friday evening already ordered...pretty sure this is the first time I've ever pre-ordered tickets for a movie. Good seats though.

Bad news is I expect this is another case where if you've watched every trailer, then you've seen the movie. The story is just not that deep. I still want to see it though.

I'm hoping this does well and Fox notices that being true to the source results in more money than "re-envisioning" (looking at you Fant4stic)

Actually. I think if you put together all the scenes that are in all the trailers, you'd only have about 10 minutes of material.
While there are tons of trailers, most of them use the same footage.
Some of it is cut together differently, but it's still basically the same.

I think most people who are going to see this movie aren't too worried about the story.
I'm sure it will be pretty formulatic.
It's the execution, and the entertainment factor that everyone is excited about.

Yes, only a few minutes of footage, but pretty much the entire story...

Here's the movie in chronological order (though probably not in cinematic, I read most of the film is flashbacks)

* Wade meets girl, falls in love. Maybe they have time to get married, probably not.
* Wade finds out he has cancer, tries everything to live including joining a shady government program who promise to cure him
* Wade is tortured as part of shady government program
* Wade escapes, now with super healing powers and tries to return to his life
* Wade finds out Shady government program guy (SGPG) has his girlfriend/wife
* Wade swears to rescue her and take revenge
* Wade attacks convoy on interstate to get to SGPG.
* Wade kills a bunch of guys but SGPG gets away.
* Colossus confronts Deadpool, agrees to help Wade in return for Wade's help with something
* Wade/Colossus/Negasonic find SGPG and henchmen
* Big fight (or fights since there are several boss type henchmen in his way)
* Wade kills SGPG and rescues girl
* The End

Each of these plot points should be 3-10 minutes of screen time and encompase 1 or more scenes. So yes, less than 10 minutes of footage shown in the trailers, but every main point except The End has appeared in at least 1 of them. That's what I meant about having seen the whole movie.

This is not a deep movie, but it should be a very fun movie.

That sounds about right.
As I said, pretty formulaic.

Sometimes things are better when you don't try to get too fancy with them.

Saw it yesterday. Loved it!!

What I didn't like....

1. folks bringing 8/9/10 yr olds w/ them! WTF!!?! So wanted to pound
their faces into bloody pulp! (good thing I have responsibilities or a LOT of
folks would be paying!) </rant>

2. wasn't fond of Colossus or the chick.

but everything else was fun!
