To be honest they could just hired that actor that plays the Joker
On Gotham.. I thought it was him till I read the article..
It kinda looks like that actor..oh well.

I thought the actor they got to play Pennywise was awesome. He did a really good job. I liked Curry's take better but I can't complain about the new guy. (Sorry I really should look up his name but I'm feeling lazy today)

Saw it yesterday and loved it.
I really enjoyed how the characters were so well fleshed out and rung true with what I remember of them from reading the book 20 some years ago.
The actors were great!
I had heard that from several people, but didn't realize just how good they actually were.

I did like this take on Pennywise.
Nothing will ever replace Curry's take, but this felt more like the impression I got from the book.
I loved the way he seemed so fun and childlike at times. Really well played.

I got to see it. Knew nothing about the movie going in other than it was a book my entire family had read but me and that there was a previous movie. I enjoyed the movie big time and my only disappointment was that I was expecting to be scared and screaming and I wasn't. I am very jumpy and easily scared but in this case I was just enjoying the adventure. Especially liked the setting for the final battle.

Came on HBO last night and checked it out. Like scubasteve above, I
too thought there'd be more 'scary' bits. Wasn't any at all... kinda found
that strange (and I too hate the cheap 'let's jump out and scare you crap'
that abounds in some horror).

It wasn't bad. Liked Curry's Pennywise much better. (agree w/ whomever said
this clown kept reminding me of the Joker)

So all those floating kids at the end... were they still alive and returned
to their parents after they return to the ground, like the girl?

oh...and will she be arrested for murder?

Was anybody else even a little uncomfortable with the slo-mo reveal of the 14-year-old girl stripping down to her underwear? I know the boys were also in their tighty whities, but ...

don't remember the slo-mo reveal... but do remember thinking that
those of us growing up in the 50/60's either would have had on cut off
jeans and if we were jumping into the lake, we'd have ditched the jeans and
gone in bare ass.

(and sorry...but we didn't hang with dem der girl thingies)

It's been uploaded to YouTube a few thousand times if you want to refresh your memory.

No swimming holes to speak of where I grew up in 1970s public school/public pool land. I always chose loose-fitting swimsuits, which allowed more space between me and the fabric when it was time to pee in the pool.

I agree. Always had issues with this type of stuff in movies/TV. Like Walking Dead Carl's kiss or Stranger Things S2 Eleven and Mike at the ball. I know it's meant to be innocent (I hope) but it's written by adults, really creepy IMO.

Looking forward to part 2. Also, I'd like to point out that she had sex with all of the boys in the novel. Something left out of both versions. The swimming scene is tame in comparison.

Yeah, I consider that sequence -- including details of the child's responses to her multiple partners -- King's lowest moment. But it doesn't make the swimming scene, involving a real 14-year-old girl, any less disturbing to me.

Yeah - my Son pointed me at that a couple of days back.

I agree with his assessment that THIS looks a lot more scary/creepy than part 1 (which I thought was a bit of a letdown in that respect).

Being so impressed with Bill Hader in Barry I'm really excited to see what he does with this.

So, anyone see this yet?
I had other things to do this passed weekend, and little money for movies, so I am waiting for the coming weekend to go see it.

Going to wait until it's (no pun intended) available on Netflix (or wherever).

I thought the first one was good, but not as good as I'd hoped (just not scary for me).

I think Tim Curry spoiled us... I'll wait til it's on cable/streaming and
catch it then. Agree didn't think pt 1 was all that great, either.

Finally sat down and watched pt 2 last night. Wasn't bad.

Did get a chuckle out of the numerous times "...didn't like the ending" was
uttered throughout the movie, w/ even S.King saying it as well! :) Always
been an issue with all his novels. Always enjoyed his short stories & novellas
much better!
