I liked it a lot.
It was fun, entertaining, with a touch of whimsy.
I like that the comedy wasn't really 'in your face' and that it had an actual plot.
The acting was a bit stiff, but that usually happens with the early episodes of a series as the actors get used to their characters.

It was a very fun, and fast hour of TV.

I liked it a lot too. It seemed to me that they were trying to include comedy but noticed that what they did try was just stupid, not funny, and they quickly dropped that in favor of simply doing a more serious type of series, and that's when I really enjoyed the show. A couple of the jokes were all right, but most were simply not funny at all to me, just seemed stupid. The special effects and sets seemed good quality to me, so it didn't appear to be a cheaply made production.

I really enjoyed it. The jokes didn’t bother me at all. Special effects were very high quality. The bickering between Ed and Kelly was a hoot. If you’re a Seth MacFarlane hater, you’re probably going to hate the show. If not, it’s a fun parody of Star Trek worthy of watching.

Humor was certainly a strong part of some of the best TOS episodes. Even when the story itself was dead serious.

Example from "the city on the edge of Forever".
"my friend here is obviously Chinese" " he had an accident with an automatic rice picking machine"

I really hate Seth McFartland - not sure why - he just has one of those faces I want to punch.

So - I wasn't going anywhere near this.

Then I had a few folks say it was worth watching.

Not too bad - enjoyable enough "meh" popcorn stuff. Has potential.

I'm thinking that Ms. Palicki had a lot to do with me appreciating it though.

Snap.

At least Nick Blood (Lance Hunter) is back next season. Won't be the same though.

She's one of those actors/actresses that OWNS the camera.

Episode 1.2. That was actually pretty good. Very low on the comedy. Much more like a straight forward episode of STTNG. I enjoyed it again. :-)

I hated the first episode but for some strange reason could not wait to to see the second episode. I really liked the second episode and I think Bortus is one of the cooler characters and last night had a nice twist. I am also very glad MacFarlane did not go the silly route.

Yeah - well - bit on the boring side plot-wise and character-wise.

Palicki is the only actor with any "presence" - the rest of them are like cardboard cutouts (bland imaginings of possible Star Trek universe characters), and even she is totally wasted in this (just quit girl - go back to S.H.I.E.L.D. !)

I'll give it another couple of weeks but if it doesn't improve - I'm out.
