Mortal Engines
I was pleasantly surprised at this movie. Excellent visual effects, good solid story line with some great plot twists, nice Steampunk feel to the buildings, aircraft, etc.. Good casting and darned good acting. This was a solid movie and can hold up to repeated viewings !

Re: Mortal Engines
I saw it last week. Checked it out with my brother.
Despite negative reviews bouncing around about it ahead of time, I ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED IT! BEST FUTURISTIC-ADVENTURE RIDE I'VE BEEN ON IN A WHILE! (And, that's including most of the latest offerings from the Star Wars franchise).
The Shrike character could have used more screen time, in order for his character to have more of an impact on the movie.
Nevertheless I really enjoyed the character. (He reminded me much of a Terminator, with a whole lot of the Marvel Character Deathlock rolled up inside - literally).

Re: Mortal Engines
I hear ya, AntMan ! It got hammered at the box office as well as crappy reviews. Outrageously expensive to produce (100 million dollars is what I've seen).
Bat's chance in Hell that there will be a sequel with that loss. Too bad because I see there are 3 more books !
But - it's obvious with the lack of discussion or response by our own Clubhouse friends, you and I seem to the only two guys in the USA that liked it !

Re: Mortal Engines
I wanted to go see it, but things have been so hectic around here, I just didn't have any time.
Same reason I didn't catch the Deadpool re-release too

Re: Mortal Engines
Came on HBO Saturday and was happy to watch it!
Wasn't bad... would have liked more city vs city action and more
background on how they are fueled and maintained. (Son read the books
and tells me there is the place to go for more insight, so will ck them out.)
I too really liked the Shrike... think he stole the movie!
