Started watching this last night. First three eps were really solid.

From the previews looks like Robot Carnival meets Magnetic Rose. Might finally sign up for Netflix afterall.

Very solid series. CGI of Topher Grace was excellent. Thought it was the real actor at first glance.

HUGE thanks to my geographically disparate colleagues . . .
    • . . . because if it wasn’t for you – I probably would have missed out on this.
Watched all 18 over the last 2 evenings – GREAT fun – took me right back to 1980 and furtive browsing of "Heavy Metal" magazine in "Nostalgia & Comics" in Birmingham City centre :D
  • • Every episode was entertaining.
    • The animation was amazing throughout – at times truly incredible – unbelievably good . . . e.g. E10 (Afghanistan) and E18 (Russia) . . . plus others.
    • A couple finished a bit abruptly, but pacing overall was great.
    • What was up with the sequencing at the start of E05 (cave)? - threw me a bit did that.
    • Unsurprisingly, the “beastie” ones were my faves – E01 (cagefight), E04 (farmers), E05 again, E07 (space voyage) + E10 & E18 again
    • I also loved the humour scattered throughout – including the 2 that were written 100% for funnies – E06 (Yoghurt) & E17 (Hitler).
    • I’m not a fan of steampunk (annoys the heck out of me for some reason) so between that and the iffy storyline, E08 was bottom of the pile for me.
    • E03 (murder witness), E12 (desert) and E14 (artist) were also a bit “meh”.
    • E13 (lucky 13) was pretty cool too, and surprisingly emotional.
    • Was it me – or was the art style in E09 (garbage dump) reminiscent of Richard Corben?
    • E16 (freezer) was TOTALLY surreal – even amongst a bunch of other often surreal stories
Bit miffed when they had all been watched - I'd have been happy to watch another batch of 18 - no question!

Thanks all! :thumb2:

Read about this on another forum. I was visiting my daughter at college this past weekend. She and Mom went shopping, I stayed in. Found this on her Roku Netflix. I watched the first 6 episodes and really liked it. As mentioned already, it felt very Heavy Metalesque to me.

LOL - forum imitating art imitating art . . . I imagine a 15-minute Predator themed LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS episode about a Heavy Metal fan with compact(ed) disc issues . . .
    • . . . I can even hear the Twilight Zone music coming from the Outer Limits of my Black Mirror . . .

Glad to hear it! I wasn't sure it would get enough watchers to be renewed.

The only bad thing about the second season is it was over too quickly :(
              • Wow!
As with the 1st season - the animation is unbelievably good - ultra-lifelike in places (where they wanted it to be).

As intended, every one has that awesome "Heavy Metal" (magazine) vibe to it.

Wonderful stuff . . . wholeheartedly recommended.

    • S02E01 - “Automated Customer Service” . . . Made me smile - like an R-rated Pixar short.
      S02E02 - “Ice” . . . My 2nd-least favourite (after S02E08). Great animation though.
      S02E03 - “Pop Squad” . . . Uncomfortable, in a good way.
S02E04 - “Snow in the Desert” . . . Damn good. Love the wordplay in the title.
      S02E05 - “The Tall Grass” . . . Suspenseful & fun (in a "sick" way).
S02E06 - “All Through the House” . . . The shortest episode, and my favourite (for some strange reason) - this'd be a real mind-fu** for young kids
S02E07 - “Life Hutch” . . . More standard Sci-Fi fare, added to by the sequencing of the story-telling.
S02E08 - “The Drowned Giant” . . . Thought-provoking for some, but a little too esoteric for me.

Watched them all in a blink. Lot's of fun. Now someone tell me what esoteric means? I have a feeling only a few people know.
