Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

#1 Post by Buc Wheat »

ok...it's probably me... but I had no clue what was going on
for like 60% of this movie. (should have rewatched the 1st
one, cuz I can't remember a thing of that one...(obviously!!))

But, besides that... did enjoy the visuals and the sfx immensely!

Questions though... (spoilers)

1. How does Grindelwald know the kid's a Dumbledore?

if the only one who knew about the baby swap was the girl... ?

2. and if Grindey knows, why doesn't Albus...and if his mother
and brother were on the ship, was he? Did she survive?

also... was she a muggle? and if so... hmmmmm

3. didn't understand Nagel's beef, at all? Why is Credence Barebone
at fault, to the point you have to kill him? He is absolutely not
related to you in any way?!? Your mother had your sister and died!!
Having a beef against the guy who took her...sure, go for it. But then he has
another wife, who has Credence... so what's he got to do with it?

4. stupid me didn't connect the name 'Nagini' at ALL!! sheesh...what an
idjit!!

Buc Wheat ... I'm getting the distinct feeling that you MIGHT have a little too much time on your hands ...

I can count the number of movies I've seen in the past 5 years on one hand ... and no TV either ... I figure I used up my life's allotment in the 1970s and 1980s ...

BTW ... WTH is a "dumbledore" anyway? :rolf:

:? ... of course, there IS an alternative way of looking at it, I suppose ... you might just have saved your pennies more wisely so that you could retire earlier than some of us schlubs who are working longer than ever late into our 50s ...

Yeah...retired full time at 48. (Thank you U.S. Navy 30 yr plan!!)
Now I make the wife a cup of tea...walk her out to the car and wave
the lovely ass goodbye in the mornings!)

Usually don't watch much on TV these days... presently only watching shows
on Thurs : Supernatural, Gotham, Orville and Sun: American Gods

(and hate how tv shows today aren't run on a normal sked: Sept to May with
reruns Jun-Aug. Now you have to guess when a season starts and ends!!?!)

So most of my tv watching is a combo of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Movies Unlimited (sons let's
me share those 3 with them) and occassionally the cable channels.

So if not reading a book, I'll watch a series or movie each night btwn 8-midnight.

Yeah, retirement is the shizzle!!

Retiring at 48 you must have put in the full 30 years in. Hat tip. That's a long time!

I did a decade in the USAF (with a year filling a US Army slot as the interpreter for the 1st Armored Division Commander, Gen Nash in Bosnia).

I sometimes wish I had stayed in for "the distance", but it all worked out in the end - I'm doing stuff now I would have never done had I gone that route and having more fun than any 57-year old is normally allowed to have! Nietzche was right!

This question still stands! There is nothing in either film which
would explain how he knows this is a Dumbledore.

I can see how he would know he definitely wasn't a Lestrange, since
the book with the family tree clearly shows his picture burnt and dead.

But again.. the only one who knew about the baby swap was Lena... so...
has does Grindelwald make the leap?
3. didn't understand Nagel's beef, at all? Why is Credence Barebone

ok...this was answered as I listened to Nagel's retelling of the story. Kill
that which Lestrange loved the most.
