Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

So, has anyone seen it yet? If so, thoughts?

I saw it this past Thursday, going to its early release.

Although I really enjoyed it, I thought it started getting a bit weird towards the end.

Spoiler Alert:
One way was when they started battling with musical notes. (Never seen that type
of thing before, although it turned out to be pretty interesting and intriguing).

A second thing was when Dr. Strange's essences/soul came back to incorporate
that dead version of himself, along with the ensuing emergence of those ghosts.
(What was all that about)?

I actually got into a debate with my son Michael, whom I saw the movie with that
Disney is starting to tighten the screws on "enticing" everyone to buy into their streaming
service. (In order to get the full effect from Doctor Strange 2, you have to see Wanda Vision first).

Also, one of the cameo appearances makes more sense after watching a particular "What If" story line,
(ironically also found in their Disney Plus service....Call me a conspiracy theorist if you must).

All-in-all the Doctor Strange movie was a really enjoyable ride.

I saw it and consider it to be one of the top 5 MCU movies. Possibly top 3, I'd have to go through the list and decide which ones I like more.

I liked the bit with Dr West. "I came back to find I'd lost both my cats." long pause "And my brother."

Also liked the bit with Black Bolt and the other Illuminati. Thought it kinda sucked they didn't do more with Mr Fantastic.

Was surprised when I went on Disney+ to watch the last Obi Wan
and saw that the Dr Strange movie was available to watch!!

That was pretty fast!

Watched it last night and have to say i enjoyed it alot. the efx were fantastic! story moved
along great and you moved right along w/ it!

not sure I liked Wanda as a villian. I just wasn't comfortable that the ends justified the means. I mean, Poor Charles!!?!! lol

I thought what America made her face at the end was the perfect move, since we all feel Wanda's good at heart.

Kinda laughed at the superpower panel. That fat, chucky, short Black Bolt was slightly miscast!

Not sure I'll ever get round to watching this one - that WandaVision thing and the way Strange was portrayed in the most recent Spider-man movie sort of put me off this.

I felt the same way. Never was a big Strange fan, although I did like the old
Ditko artwork back in the day. But although I love the guy who plays him, only
watched this becuz nothing else was on my watchlist.

But have to admit, I enjoyed it!

Between client-stuffs & catching up on other shows, I've been pretty occupied this last week. Finished off the binge-watch of all 10 seasons of "Friends", slotted in the 4th Season of "Stranger Things" (well - the 1st 7 episodes since the last 2 are not out until next Friday), did a "Man vs. Bee" marathon yesterday, and added S03E06 of "The Boys" (bloody brilliant that is - it's getting better and better - as is "Stranger Things" for that matter).

Have last weeks Orville & Ms. Marvel to go and then I'm all caught up - there's some real quality stuff out there right now so I've been a bit spoiled for choice!

Just can't summon the enthusiasm to watch this though (won't be bothering with that latest "Star Wars / Kenobi" dross either . . . or yard work  )

Watched 2 ep's of Sthings, but got sick and tired of all the teen angst and having to relive the 80's. So
dropped it this year.

The Boys... whoo boy... watched ep 1 and my heterosexual sensibilities blew a gasket. Sorry. But
think I'm done w/ this and Umbrella Academy as well.

Did start Ms Marvel due to to good things I've read here and over on SSM. Watched 2 so far and
wasn't bad.

  • Stranger Things - seriously dude - total SNAP. Love the 80's (although that wasn't MY 80's) but hated the school & bullying stuff so I got about 2/3 of the way into S04E02 and gave in. Then others I trusted (including my Son) told me it totally changed tack pretty much after the exact spot I stopped, so I started again a couple of days later . . . and they were right - best season ever!

The Boys - yeah - the "opening" scene was a bit freaky (pun totally intended), but it's been a great season overall - easily the best (again) . . . although all the other seasons were grade A+++ as well.

Umbrella Academy - I won't be bothering with the new season . . . ditto for Doom Patrol as that got SO weird last season that I struggled to get to the end. When you get to the point that you are only watching out of a sense of "loyalty" then it's time to stop.

Ms Marvel is still doing OK - S01E03 had some really dumb writing, but the lead actress is just SOOOOOOO good she makes up for any shortcomings (a superstar in the making is that girl). I love that it's so refreshingly different.

And to get back on topic (sorry folks) - I still don't think I'll ever get round to watching this latest Scarlet Witch Doctor Strange movie :)

Yeah, talking to my Grand Daughter who said it gets really good at Ep 4... so, yeah, maybe I'll go
back to it.

Ant, I apologize, I just want to say that I am enjoying this season of SThings more than the last two.
