KK's Priest - Sermons Of The Sinner  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFjekrILVzM

Uploaded today.

Love the music - but not a fan of the "screaming-meanie" vocals on the first half (and end) . . . reminds me of Painkiller-era Halford and I HATE that album for the same reason (well - that and the songs are crap).

Took 2 listens again

Prefer the first track they released, but am really pleased KK's back on the job.

Yeah. I have learned that most of the live videos of Baby Metal on YouTube are compilation videos. Unless it is an official video.
It's the way uploaders avoid getting take-down notices. Amuse is notorious for strictly enforcing it's copyright. But, somehow having mixed footage like most videos do gets around it.

Is it bad that I have listened to this song so much, I can sing along to over half the lyrics? (even though I have no clue what I am singing)

If you want to see more spotlight on the Kami band then check out this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WBDiLMNZcE Rondo of Nightmare.
The first half is just amazing. The rest is ok, but not as catchy as a lot of their stuff.

And if you want to see how they do a rock anthem
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTEYUFgLveY Road of Resistance
which Dragonforce helped them write and arrange.
And also features the most orderly 'wall of death' I have ever seen, and just how amazing Japanese crowds can be.

If you can't tell, I have fallen into a bit of a rabbit hole here.

Those 2 are good too - prefer the 1st, then the 2nd, then the 3rd (which wouldn't sound out-of-place on Eurovision  )

The talent level of those band members is off-the-charts!

Yeah, the only reason I really enjoy the 3rd one is because all the crowd interaction.
It's one of those songs that really could only be appreciated live.
And you are right, the band is amazing. I especially love Bo, the bass player. The dude never stops rocking.

Here is one you especially can appreciate. No huge stage show, effects, or pyro. Playing in the rain at Download in 2016.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXF94RGYEmw Karate
What amazes me the most, Su-Metal was only 18 at the time of this show. And she worked that crowd like she has been doing it for decades.

Geez - she's just a kid (about the same age THEN as several of Def Leppard were when I first saw them live) - I thought the girls looked young but assumed it was the standard "asians often look 10-years younger than they are" thing.

Liked that one too. I'm sold on these folks now.

The location didn't exactly hurt - DAMN I miss Donington/Monsters-Of-Rock/Download . . . bit of trivia  my UK will used to specify my ashes were scattered there. Still might set that up again :)

Yeah, the girls are young.
Sumetal was born Dec 1997
Moametal was born July 1999
Yuimetal was born June 1999 (and left the band in 2018 due to health reasons)

Which makes their breakout show on the main stage at Sonisphere in 2014 even more impressive.

And yeah, I knew about Donington. Which is why I posted that video (even though the location for Download that year was Wembley,)

Did you guys check this video of "Baby Metal" performing with Rob Halford of "Judas Priest"?

I'd not seen it, but had heard about it. Had a quick listen but the sound quality is poor (and Halford's vocals are embarrassingly awful). Thanks anyways though.

I HAD seen part of one they did with (pretend) KISS, and that was what originally put me off the band :)

That one with Halford was cool at the time. Gave them a bit more legitimacy with older metalheads.

But I agree with Spike. I can't watch/listen to it anymore.
Though, I don't think the sound quality is that bad.
I hate Robs voice on Painkiller, but Su sounds great on it. And she looks like she is having so much fun.
Rob isn't bad on Breaking the Law, but Su's voice just is not suited for that chorus at all. It is cool seeing Moa and Yui with guitars though.

I personally prefer this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcdm3br1bd0 of Babymetal doing the same songs without Rob.
The sound quality isn't the greatest, but it is an audience shot video. Breaking the Law isn't as bad with Su singing the whole thing, and not just the chorus.
Plus it is just so fun seeing them get to rock out and not just do their amazing choreography.
Just 3 teenage girls having a blast and doing their thing at the O2 arena.

I don't understand why Halestorm are not multi-millionaires yet - but it does mean that (as far as non-rock-fans are concerned) we can still class them as our little "secret".

Without a doubt - my fave vocalist of all time - the goddess strikes again - with some help from a close friend :)

I've always been fond of the "Family Feud" theme - so figured I'd link it here for other folks enjoyment . . .
      • (* OK - maybe I had an ulterior motive and didn't want to start a new thread *)
Not a fan of the music Dee has been releasing over the last few years, but this is further proof he's still as sharp as ever (and DAMN is Suzette still hot as hell  - I think I know why Dee keeps himself in shape!)

Terry Bradshaw seems to be a really nice fella with a great sense-of-humour too!

1986 - 35 years ago . . .

The year we lost Phil Lynott, and the year (with June 27th being the DAY) that Queensrÿche released their 2nd album - "Rage For Order".

Never have been able to decide which of this or 1988's "Operation Mindcrime" I rate highest - it's just too bloody close to call.

Love every song on this album (and am listening end-to-end as I type) - but I selected their "ode to Predator vision" (even though the movie was released in 1987 :) ) . . .

                  • Side A
                    • 1) Walk in the Shadows
                      2) I Dream in Infrared
                      3) The Whisper
                      4) Gonna Get Close to You
                      5) The Killing Words
                      6) Surgical Strike
                    Side B
                    • 1) Neue Regel
                      2) Chemical Youth (We Are Rebellion)
                      3) London
                      4) Screaming in Digital
                      5) I Will Remember

Well no offence to the faces on MCTV #27, but Scott, Jason, Todd & Jamie couldn't compete with the link YouTube threw at me once I "signed out" tonight.

A band I'd never heard of before  "Crazy Lixx", with a song from a self-titled 2014 album called "Girls of The 80's".

REALLY catchy and totally brightened up my evening :D (so glad I was born when I was - and that the wee Wifey is a "girl of the 80's").

The video is a fan-made upload, and brings back some happy memories of the best decade in music history (you can never get too much of Jan Kuehnemund & Roxy Petrucci of Vixen in slow-mo).

Old song, new haircuts, supremely confident in their abilities, BEAMING faces (and a HUGE streak of jealousy wound round my heart - I would have LOVED to have been there).

Halestorm's first live gig in a LONG, LONG time - Friday 16th July 2021 - Nashville.

They are looking and sounding great.

Doesn't matter how many versions of this track I hear/view . . . it ALWAYS grabs me by the feels.

My fave band formed after 1990 - and in my top 5 of all time - no question.

PS: Loved the comments - particularly this one - "Lzzy's voice is like a chainsaw with a flame thrower attachment!" :D :D :D

Same. Several reasons why that song holds many feelings for me.

You've mentioned reaction videos a few times.
Have you seen this one yet? I think you'd enjoy his enthusiasm.

Ta muchly.

I've watched a few of his videos but hadn't seen that one. I can SO relate to his response - but WTH ?!?! - he hadn't seen this before? - damn has he missed out for 6 years!

It's been one of my fave songs by them since it was first released April 2015.

The woman is a goddess amongst the rest of us mortals on the planet.

Sidebar  They performed the song live for the first time on March 9th 2015 in Wolverhampton, England (a few miles up the road from Birmingham) during the band's UK headlining tour.
