I’ve dropped the ball over the last 3 months as regards significant anniversaries of albums that mean a LOT to the rock community (and to me).

Maybe no-one else here feels the same, but I felt guilty that I hadn’t got off my arse and taken the time to add them to this thread.

There will be 5 posts in total – dated August 1976 (45 years ago), 2 from July 1982 (40 years ago), 1 from Sept 1982 (40 years ago) and 1 from July 1987 (35 years ago) . . . watch this space :D

Hey Ian, think you are going to want to spend some more time with the Charismatic Voice

She did Lzzy & Amy Lee - Break In
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYQ9KE2XayA

And an almost 2 hour interview with Lzzy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBXNrr26lIY

I forgot to post the other day, but she also did one of my favorites from the Pretty Reckless as well

A LIVE recording of the latest single from some band that I'd hardly ever heard of . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ccK_ZBKz98

Well-dodgy sound since the closeness to the amps was blowing out the baffles on the recorders phone, but still captures the energy really well. Love it :cloud9:

I'd heard the track "around" the time it was originally released, but it became a staple of pub-runs a good 11 years later in my University years.

"I don't have pants that tight" - LMAO.

MORE LMAO - his reaction at the 6min mark.

There's some really freaky live videos out there if you do some digging  :D

I had completely forgotten about the Maiden cover too.
So that brought an even bigger grin to my face.

I had NEVER heard of the Helloween OR Maiden covers (working my way through the video).

Lemmy get to the end . . .

OK - NO way was that Bruce at the 13min mark - that was our fave lunatic Nikko!

Yeah, it's Nicko.
That is another one of those B-sides where they just take the piss out of something.
Much like Sheriff of Huddersfield.

Ok, so Halestorm did an unplugged version of Back From the Dead.

And I think I might like it better than the original version.

Haven't listened yet as I'm juggling client asks - but will later today.

Bruce and an orchestra doing Perfect Strangers.

Man, he still sounds amazing (when not doing new Maiden material) ;)

RE: "'Perfect Strangers" . . . great voice - wasted on an average track.
    • (* unlike his delivery on the latest Maiden album - (mostly) great voice on (mostly) amazing material 8) :P *)
PS: His "one man show" tickets for Vancouver went on sale last Friday - sold out within an hour - I found out about the gig on Sunday. Much foul language was heard around the Campbell household!

Love both versions (if I ignore the god-awful video for the original).

This has a great "western" feel to it - great guitar work and DAMN those soaring vocals !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much talent in 1 band. If these folks had been around in the 1980's they would be bigger than almost anybody in rock history (and deserve to be NOW anyways!)

I like the song. ;)

I might be going to see Bruce's show. Not sure.
The day it was announced, my daughter asked me which one I was considering. (he is coming to Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Cleveland). I told her, and we vaguely discussed logistics. Since then, neither one of us has mentioned it again. So I don't know if she is getting me a ticket as an xmas gift or not.

Nice to hear Volbeat bringing the crunch back.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snItFJlBtTc

I like a lot of their newer stuff, but I still love the old stuff with the crunchy / gritty guitar sound.
