Well that was all sorts of awesome.

Toasted our buddy John with a cup of tea during "Blood Brothers" (AND it was at Donington - not too shabby!)

Actually, it isn't there anymore.
But it does look like they've put each song up on their channel individually.
Will watch this weekend (fingers crossed)

Another year, another tour . . .

On May 26th, Iron Maiden kicked off their highly anticipated Legacy Of The Beast world tour at Saku Suurhall in Tallinn, Estonia. As promised, the setlist contained a number of surprises including two songs from the Blaze Bayley era of the band - "The Clansman" and "Sign Of The Cross" - which have not been played live since the early 2000's, and several classics that haven't been played in over a decade.

The setlist on the night was as follows:
  • "Aces High"
"Where Eagles Dare" (first live performance since September 2, 2005)
    "2 Minutes to Midnight"
The Clansman" (first live performance since August 30, 2003)
    "The Trooper
    "Revelations
"For the Greater Good of God" (first live performance since June 24, 2007)
"The Wicker Man" (first live performance since August 6, 2011)
"Sign of the Cross" (first live performance since January 19, 2001)
"Flight of Icarus" (first live performance since September 17, 1986)
    "Fear of the Dark"
    "The Number of the Beast"
    "Iron Maiden"
Encore:
  • "The Evil That Men Do"
    "Hallowed Be Thy Name"
    "Run to the Hills"

I would so love to see this setlist performed.
And the stage looks amazing, as do a lot of the props and such.

Hopefully they hit North America next year and keep it the same.
I really want to see Flight done live again. It not being played was the only disappointment from the Early Days tour in 2005.

Yeah. There are very few setlist changes on a Maiden tour.
Much to the dismay of many fans who go to multiple shows.
But I can understand the consistency.

Hope you had an amazing time at the show.

That was fun.
He looks so much better than he did.
And I like his hair grown out more like it is now too.
He always looked way too serious with that short short hair.

Yeah - saw this earlier today. Sounds like the setlist will be the one I saw in the UK (a few posts above this one).

I would have got tickets, but my life is not my own these days - and I have no idea if I'll be in Canada or the UK from week-to-week - so no point.

The memory of that gig in Birmingham is SO special though - so it's all good.

That October 4th Rio gig though - oh man :( :( :( :( :(

Best part for me, will be going to the show with my daughter.
Going down to her place Thursday morning, then on to the show after hanging out a while.
Then I will crash there after the show, and drive home in the morning.

Gigs are always best as shared experiences with family and/or friends. I don't think I've EVER gone to one on my own.
