Oh yeah. I also know which shirt I want!

upper left corner.
That's the one I will be after in Toronto unless they have some kind of show exclusive.

Cool TEE choice Trev. I'd seen the setlist etc. myself but didn't get off my bum and post
New set-opening video here (2 mins long) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-r1FqeQYsc
Also - the print that was teased a couple of weeks back has JUST gone up for sale - https://www.darkinkart.com/products/sha ... an-mumford?
I'm really tempted but will have to make my mind up VERY soon.

I just hope they have it when they come over here. Sometime things can get funky.Heavy Metal Spike wrote:Cool TEE choice Trev.
Though I do have a backup as my second favorite is the one 3rd from the right.
My daughter got the one dead center last year.
And I don't see the one I got for my birthday from her. They must not be doing those anymore.
So I am really glad I already have it.

My Son got the 3rd from the left at last years gig.

"Doctor, I think Iron Maiden #$#$#$# up my hearing for good!"
I didn't make it to WF but I got to go see the boys last night in Philly. They were better then ever and so F###king loud. They played half the BOS's album as well some old favorites.
Ghost was pretty cool too.

Don't know if anyone saw them last night at the Prudential Center in NJ, but I thought it sucked. Weak set list and Bruce may as well been speaking Chinese. Who ever was mixing, should be fired. He was completely inaudible. Worst concert I've been to since the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son show at the Coliseum way back when. Let's cut the theatrical crap out and get the sound right boys.

I had a similar experience a few years back with one of the Vancouver gigs. Add a staggering drunk 2 seats down AS WELL (who was embarrasing the heck out of his Son) and it was a complete waste of time/money.
They've done much better since then though - but still nowhere near as good as the "Somewhere Back In Time" gig further back.

Sorry you had a bad experience.
Must have been bad sound where you were sitting.
I've got a couple of audience recordings from 2 different areas and they both sound pretty good.
And this video sounds darn good too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB1EcVGuCnw
That said, I know sound has been an issue for the past few tours. Kind of hit-or-miss.
For some reason after the band parted ways with their long time sound guy they haven't been able to find someone else that can do the job properly in every venue.
As to the setlist, that is a matter of taste.
Personally, I am stoked to hear the new stuff in person since I couldn't see them last year.
But I can also understand those who aren't fans of the new album being a bit bummed.

Re: New Iron Maiden album due Sept 4th 2015 - The Book Of So
Hey Mike, I was also at the show at the Rock. Not sure where you were seated - I was 1st row mezzanine, half way back in the arena, and the sound was terrible.
If you weren't familiar with the lyrics for Maiden, you may as well have just listened to noise. Ghost, I was able to recognize what song they were playing after giving a real good listen. I had similar seats for Fleetwood Mac, then the Who a year or so ago - an awful lot of drum echo from the rear of the arena for both of those shows as well.
On the other hand, I had 15th row for Priest and Mastodon, and could not have been happier with the audio. It was as if the Metal God himself was screaming for vengeance right in front of me. As Trevor pointed out, there are many videos out there, and most have good sound quality. The ones I saw seemed to all be lower bowl, or floor - where the sound does not appear to be compromised. Will probably refrain from catching gigs there anymore unless I have lower seats.

Re: New Iron Maiden album due Sept 4th 2015 - The Book Of So
Well, I was going to see Maiden this weekend, but now I am not.
I don't know what it is. I never really got psyched for this show. Then as we got into June, I just wasn't feeling like making that long drive. (it's like 4 hours, one way, by myself)
I was really on the fence about going.
Yeah, it's Maiden, and I know I would have a blast there on the floor.
But it just didn't feel like it was enough to offset the drive, and dealing with the crowds, etc, etc.
Then I found out that almost the entire area outside is going to be an Indy car street track this weekend too.
And that raised the hassle factor considerably. Even more trouble finding a place to park. Even more crap to wade through to get to the venue. Just too much headache. So, I unloaded my ticket.
If it were some place familiar, I still might have went.
But, I have only been there once, 12 years ago. And I didn't drive. I was a backseat passenger that slept most of the way.
So, weighing making a 4 hour drive, by myself, to a place I have never driven, and trying to maneuver around once I get there, with that kind of chaos going on.
As well as missing 2 days of my local medieval faire.
Against seeing Maiden for the 12th time.
I decided to stay local, and spend the weekend hanging out with my faire-family.
A year or two from now I may look back and regret it, but right now it just seems like the more appealing way to spend my weekend.

I missed all the 90's being busy making a family and raising small children.Heavy Metal Spike wrote: (* only 11 so far? - meh *)
It would be easier if they would come closer. The closest they come is just over 100 miles away.
But, as they get older, the number of stops dwindles and they end up farther and farther away.

As regards "closer" - THAT is the real difference - I was spoiled being in the UK during the 70's/80's/90's - so much going on and always within 30mins to 3hrs travel time (each way - excluding car breakdowns )
Man I miss those times! - happy days indeed.

They were in St. Louis last night, unfortunately it was also my wife's birthday and she isn't a Maiden fan so I didn't get tickets. Kinda glad now though - the temp was 103 yesterday here and it was an outdoor event. The amphitheatre here is known for poor sound in the past especially if the soundman doesn't know how to mix this site. I'm curious to see the reviews of the show though. Talking about distance to concerts it was only about 15 minutes from where I live.

Yeah- I'm on the fence about the comic. It is either going to be pretty good or pretty bad, nothing in between. At least that's my gut feeling about it. I'll at least get the first issue and try it out.

Actually, this wasn't toooooo bad. Still would have liked him to hold the changes another beat or two. That way it would feel like the screen feed at a show.
Still miles better than what he did with Rock in Rio.
Seriously. Watch this and tell me I don't have a point.
