Ok, so I was a bit unimpressed with the original link for Plush. So I wasn't going to follow that link in the next post.
Then Steve started carrying on, so I thought, ok, maybe I should take a look.
The Blondie cover was great.
Maybe I should check out some more.
Bailed on the Bon Jovi, because I forgot I really dislike that song.
The Skid Row cover was good, but I kept thinking, she's good, but she just doesn't have enough bite to the vocal. No edge.
Not a knock, just a different kind of singer.
Almost wrote it off there.
But I already had the Kix cover lined up.
My god I was wrong. She definitely has an edge when she wants to.
That was great!
What the hell, I already have the Dokken cover on deck, lets check it out.
Good sign during the instrumental beginning. She headbangs just like me. Complete with the air guitar.
And the vocals did not disappoint!
I think I like them better than the original. (the vocals were always my biggest knock on Dokken.)
[well, that, and the fact that Lynch only sketches his solos when performing live]
Dammit Trevor - why all the links?? Too late tonite but I see whats gonna happen to my time tomorrow!! Like you I keep seeing another I just have to listen to.
Thanks in advance for those links!
I've been following these folks for about a year, and love pretty much every one of their covers - really talented - especially the male lead vocalist - Björn "Speed" Strid (from Soilwork).
Just heard about this - a perfect re-imagining of one of my fave "pop" songs from the 80's . . .
Wow. Been a long time since I heard that song. Had to play it to remind myself about it.
Not really one of my favorites, even though Joe's Garage was my initiation to Zappa.
I was always more partial to Act I and leaned heavily on everything from side 1.
I was always more into Frank's lyrics as opposed to his long musical interludes.
Ahhhhhh . . . Friday nights are back - just The Treatment I was needing
Been following these fellas for YEARS, and although they have just released a new album (more from that later!) - this (from 2 years ago) was our mood tonight!
UK rock/metal fekkin' RULES!
Once again with the "tie your feet to the chair legs or the neighbours downstairs will be complaining about the foot-tapping" . . .
It's like AC/DC (when they were good) morphed into Airbourne, then the genes from Airbourne, Def Leppard & Thunder got delicately folded in a bowl before adjusting the blender to "smoothie/frappé" and throwing the switch to high speed for 5 minutes.
Love these guys.
You keep pushing me the wrong way, the wrong way, till there's nowhere left to turn
You keep pushing me the wrong way, the wrong way, and you never seem to learn

Thanks for that. I was in just the right mood to listen to this.
(not that there are really any bad times to listen, but today, it just 'hit the spot')
