I've been dreading this day for a long time. Bowie is my all-time favorite performer, and I'd seen him in concert more than anyone else. His ability to constantly reinvent himself and entertain was staggering. Thanks for everything you left us with. Time to listen to Life on Mars...

Because it was his birthday and the debut of his new album, MTV ran his newest video Friday night. I was at home and watched it and was duly impressed. Of course, I didn't know he was actually on his death bed while I was watching it. Ever the artist ...

I was stunned into tearful silence when I heard of his passing this morning. I've always been a huge fan of David and just can't believe he's gone. As a bit of humor and an odd aside, I had my wisdom teeth removed last year at age 56. Late in life that it may be for such a thing, I was very entertaining to the doctor and staff coming out of anesthesia singing (appropriately) "Space Oddity".

David's music, acting and style will be part of me for the rest of my days. May you rest well.

I still remember in 7th grade ('72 or '73) my friend with the Ziggy Stardust album saying "you gotta hear this song". That song was Suffragette City. So many great songs.

Sad he died so young, relatively speaking.

"the Man Who Fell to Earth" is still one of my favorite sci fi films. No one else could have fit the role so well.

Yes so many! I think my 1st was Rebel Rebel and then Golden Years. But my personal favorite will always be the theme to Cat-People...

Unfortunately most of the rockers my age group, many here I'm thinking, grew up with are now in there late 60's and 70's. Some I'm sure changed their lifestyle as they got older, of course some have not. Sad to say you never know who might be next.

I have been told by several people that I have more David Bowie CDs than many people have CDs in general. That may be true, I don't know. But I know I'm still kind of in shock. Hard to believe he's gone.
