Jim Steinman (of "Bat Out Of Hell" fame) passes at age 73.

Totally original. MAN do rock fans owe him. RIP Mr. Steinman.

And now, just 9 months after Jim passed, we lose Meat.

This came as quite a shock to me.

I was sad to learn the bad news.

Only upside is they were playing a bunch of Meatloaf songs on the radio today.
Brought back some good memories of listening to the Bat Out of Hell tape at a friends house back in the day.

Ah the memories of the Summer of 1978 .... batting practice softballs at the high school field every morning ... "Bat Out of Hell" songs playing nonstop on WABC AM in NYC ... going to Yankee Games ... Phil Rizzuto protesting on the Yankee broadcast (but not very convincingly) about "that Huckleberry" Meatloaf, claiming that he didn't know why "every play had to be so close" on the play-by-play voice over that he recorded for "Hot Summer Night" ...

RIP, Mr Loaf ...
