Actually, I may have found a solution to both these problems.
Hopefully I will get a chance to test it out tomorrow.
I've got a 4 day weekend staring at me, and the weather is supposed to be crap tomorrow, so we will see.

But, for the sake of conversation, the 2nd quote was always the hold-up with the 1st quote.
Storage and bandwidth = $$$
It's bad enough that we have to raise funds just to keep the place running, we didn't want to eat up that money faster by using more bandwidth.
And for the record, I don't foresee ever seeing banners or ads here.
First of all, no one wants that crap.
Second of all, we don't have anyone to set it up, and deal with maintaining it.
And Third, no one wants that crap.

In summary, if all goes well, we will have a shiny new toy to play with tomorrow.
If all goes horribly wrong and I screw things up, you might find the site offline tomorrow.
Or
I will get busy with life crap tomorrow and not get a chance to try it.

Thank you very much everyone for your opinions. They are greatly appreciated.

Trev

Excited to see what you might have in the works as a fix but please don't go out of your way to fix the problem just because I brought it up. I don't mind having my photos hosted off site. I just was looking for an alternative to my current situation.

It's not just you. This has come up before, and often over the years.
Just so happened when you brought it up this time, I came across a possible solution.
You did spur the google search this time, so your post did set it into motion.

Now, as to the new toy.
Look just below the posting window, you should see a link to add an image.
Give a try and let me know what you think.

We can use this thread as a testing ground before I make a site-wide announcement.

Wow!!
Works great!
Now, is the image copied permanently to the CH or will it disappear if I delete it from its source (in this case my desktop)?

I just deleted two of the images from my desktop but they're still visible in the thread, so I guess I've answered my own question about whether they disappear once deleted from the source site.

Great solution to a long-time gripe, Trevor!!

Well anyway I have deleted every one of my photos from these greedy a holes, now to find another friendlier photo hosting service. Karl
