Universal Monster Board Game Monster paint ups

#1 Post by dgelon »

I've already started another thread with Dracula, but I wanted a more aptly titled thread to show off all the monsters as I finish them. I'm posting Drac again here just for completeness. Hey Moderator - If this causes any problems, let me know and I'll remove Drac. Frankenstein is the next one finished and the Mummy has been base coated and will be up soon.

No problem from my point of view.
Seems logical to me to gather them all into one thread.

That's a crap-load of painted detail in a tiny sculpt!

Nicely done.

Thank you, some times I like painting large (1/8, 1/6 scale) but I've been into micro detail recently.

Excellent work especially at that scale, i'd need a microscope telescope and a magnifying glass to just prime it. :D
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be! -Puck

Thank you, I've got old man eyes and I need a magnifying visor to paint them, even I have problems seeing the details with just my regular glasses.

WOW! Terrific job with those minis!
I agree with you re: moving on to the smaller scales. 1:6th kit with a base and all the extras have gotten too expensive and I can buy 7 or 8 equally high detailed minis for the same price. But we're not taking about that. '
Looking fwd to seeing the Invisible Man and Wolfie!

Thank you Kev, I should have the Bride up before the weekend (the sculpt has a weird face).

Also if you get a chance check out some of the fantasy or sci fi models from Master Box Limited (you can order through amazon). They are plastic kits around 1/24th scale with fantastic details and are relatively cheap for plastic kits. I have the Ogre with dwarf and female warrior and the scifi bar scene. You would probably love them.

Cool.
Actually w/o remembering, I have the MD Medusa. She's done, but put to the side a while ago, while I was thinking of a little vignette to put her on. I guess I should finally finish that one off. I'll definitely have another look thru them tho.

4 of the 7 now done. Here is the bride, the face sculpt is a little wonky on this one, the eyes are really wide set and the mouth is a little blow up doll-esque but I tried my best to make it all work. I had seen images where the hair is dark brown, black or auburn. I went back to the original poster art where it is auburn. Based on the poster I also went with a fair flesh tone instead of the white face I sometimes see her rendered in.

I guess they were trying to capture that famous hissing face she did. Looks cool nonetheless!

5 done and the 2 I'm looking forward to painting the most are left. Here is the Wolfman, a pretty plain sculpt and not the best paint up but another one finished. Finished is good!

Nice touch, adding the stripes to the pajamas.
Great stuff as usual.
