No dioramas for me. I just want to build and paint it :D
I also have 2 more that I plan to paint with completely different color schemes.
It's so cool, I just have to do it multiple times.
Also eyeing a nice large resin one on Etsy. Pretty sure it is from Lord of the Print.
200mm mini.

Well, the blue tone from Army painter did a nice job of knocking back the white on the spikes.
But it isn't dark enough around the base, so I am going to have to break out the pastels and see how well I can work in tight areas with them.

Looks good!
FWIW you can keep adding the blue tone to the base of the spikes until you reach the value you want. Otherwise take a dark blue paint you have and make a glaze to darken it. I just see myself not being able to pastel that little area. ;)

I'll let you know. Pastels are on the docket for this weekend.
Last weekend was limited bench time and all I really got done was more Army Painter tones over several kits.

Oh, and I made what I call the fangs look a bit venomous as well.

Pastels worked out great.
Here was the first pass

Which worked well, but wasn't as dark as I wanted.
So I gave it all a second pass

Much better.
Thinking about a glaze of my dark base color on the very base of the spikes to really tie it all together. Not sure though. Will sleep on it, and see how I feel about it tomorrow.
