Going to significantly modify a broken iron-studios fell beast nazgul statue.
Planned changes:
- Replace wings with game of thrones drogon model kit wings
- replace head with blackheart models reign of fire dragon head
- remove saddle and harness
- replace those back thingys with spikes
- modify chest and abs to give it more athletic and powerful profile
- modify feet claws

The guys who made the drogon kit were kind enough to sell me additional pairs of wings that were broken.
I already have plans to reuse the fell beast wings for another future balrog bash.

OK. SOMEONE'S got to say it, so it might as well be me:

That is gonna be THE Greatest Dragon EVER. The body with the twisting neck and gripping claws, with that worm head and weird wings replaced with the Dragon head & Wings is going to be the coolect Dragon in your collection. Seriously. You've just taken the best pieces from the lot and created the perfect Dragon.   :bshock: :bshock: :bshock:

Can't wait to see it completed!!! :bdrool:

Thanks ! I have to admit that I am pretty psyched about this bash as well.

I am still working on my alien kraken kitbash but I plan to split my time between them as I can not wait to get started on this one.

Cut off the back thingys, saddle and harness.

started trimming down the body for new wings and a more streamlined powerful profile
Lots more cutting to do on the underside

I don’t like the splayed out awkward angle of the right leg.
I will probably cut it off and significantly reposition it .

Both leg thighs can use some beefing up as well.

Thanks to all who are following this latest dragon bash

Continuing cutting to convert that bloated body into a more muscular tapered V shape.

Ok, I now have the torso cut back enough to start adding the details back in.
I also cut the right leg in half so I can align it with new cut back torso and beef up the thigh.

Working right leg, beefing up thigh

I had planned to reposition the legs and feet to be more underneath the body and not so splayed out.
But decided to keep current feet position because new much bigger wings need a wide support
And the base has indents and magnets where the feet attach, so now I do not have to do significant rework.

Also Working to extend horns on head, just roughed in extension

As I was saying ... this is the AWESOMEST dragon kit-bash (or kit, for that matter) in existence. The wings make it look alive - like a giant bat ...

... now listen - you may want to quit doing dragons after this one, cause, no offense - you're NEVER gonna top this!!!

Seriously - can't wait to see this thing completed!!! :drool2:

Reworking the right leg
Started working the chest and patching up cut up areas to get ready for detailing
Cut off feet and claws as I plan to scratch sculpt them to have them more strongly gripping the base
Cut back base near claws to enable more of a gripping pose
I realize these pics are not as cool as the test fit of wings and head; but this is key part of bashing process

Coming along nicely!

As I've said before - adding a spike (or 20) is always a good thing (most would however disagree  )

Keep up the good work :thumb2:
