Re: Statue-bash: Fell Beast Nazgul Dragon; new pics 2022-01-
Although I liked the last body color tone; it was a little too monochromatic.
So I decided to repaint the body and slowly build up colors and create more skin color variation.
Still have to do dry brushing, teeth/eyes detailing and permanently attach and blend in wings.

Started detailing the head
Made the base darker, but the pics show it to be much whiter than it actually is.
Almost ready to permanently attach and blend in wings.

Attached the wings, widened the chest, beefed up shoulders and blending were wings attach to body.
Still need to finish detailing the head, eyes and teeth.

Downright stunning! Can't wait for the final paint up - really dig your willingness to re-do and re-do til you get it where you want it! When I used to do big dino-bashes back in the 2000s (when I was just getting back into the hobby and had a lot more time for modeling) I used to do the same thing.

Thanks!
I hope that I can just paint the new unpainted portions and blend them into the existing painted body.
But I will not be surprised if I have to repaint the whole body….again..

Decided to beef up the base of the neck and continue neck spikes into the shoulder and base of wings
Also lengthened and reworked the spikes on the sides under the wings.
Stilll need to sharpen up these added and reworked spikes

Re: Statue-bash: Fell Beast Nazgul Dragon; new pics 2022-01-
Well, as usual I over worked the paint job and it became too dark.
So went back to primer white to try again.
Also reworking chest area ; made a wider divide between pecs for more visual interest .
Reworking where wings attach on top as well.
Filled in some low points on the neck.
Thanks for your interest in this bash and patience with my frequent back to square 1 process .

Re: Statue-bash: Fell Beast Nazgul Dragon; new pics 2022-01-
Well, there was just something not right with this dragon and I think it was that the spikes were too big,
so…..
Cut off all the neck side spikes and working on replacing them with even smaller versions.
Adding some segmentation details to the side of the neck for more visual interest
Cut off all back spikes and replaced them with more and thinner and smaller spikes
Reduced the size of all the head horns
Reworked under armor to add 2 extended ridges to each segment for more visual interest
Also beefed up bicep of left wing arm
The real trick has been not to ruin the wings paint job as I make all these changes…

Re: Statue-bash: Fell Beast Nazgul Dragon; new pics 2022-02-
I think the smaller spikes are a good call.
Didn't even realize it needed it, but it almost looks like a completely different creature now.
Somehow it seems more agile and deadly now.

Smaller spikes do give it a more lithe, agile "feel" - agree with Trev. Keep at it!

Significantly Slimmed down the neck; underneath and where it joins the head
Working on adding texture and other details to the neck
Had to replace all the right side neck spikes (yet again) as for some reason the last spikes never hardened?
Added a collar bone to amplify the chest and separate it from upper shoulders and neck area

If I wasn't following this progression, I would have no idea how much work you put into this.
It's been very interesting watching this beast morph through all it's different stages.
