how to dissasemble pvc figure for repaint

hello guys i'm not sure how to go about takeing a pvc figure apart for repainting? its not a fairly complex piece only need to detach a few larger parts ,do i boil? then pull? i have tried looking but not much info..thank's

My first thought and what I have done before - a hairdryer. Once you heat up the parts and they should become very flexible. Much easier and safer than boiling.
