I see threads often about removing x-random-paint-type from x-random-kit-surface type kits, but most seem to assume that you want to get down to a raw, unpainted finish, then work back up. I've got an _old_ Marmit vinyl kit that has a layer of acrylic on some features. The acrylic layer isn't heavy, just ugly. I'd like to get that off, but leave (unsure of the nature) the original paint job/color... any experience?
Thanks!

Not really.
Usually, any kind of stripper is going to strip it down to the bare material.
