Kitbash: Pumpinkhead, Finished 2023-09-27

#1 Post by barad_dur »

2023-09-27; new pics page 1; finished
2023-09-25; new pics page 1; working on painting
2023-09-23: new pics page 1; roughed in repositioned tail , created place for feet

Making some minor changes to Dark Carnival Pumpkinhead kit (by the way, the detail on this kit is fantastic).

Repositioning the tail to go down over and circle around the cemetery wall.
The primary reason for this tail modification is that I plan to display this kit in a custom sized acrylic case, so I need to significantly reduce the length of the kit to help reduce the cost of the case.

Creating place for the feet to firmly attach to the JL Crinon cemetery base.

Jeez Joe - how many bashes do you have going at the same time? Your example could drive some lesser mortals to ... well ... you know ... :alcoholic:

:rolf:

Not overly familiar with this character but he's creepy as hey. Now its on my radar til completion. No Frankensteinian cross-species work on this one I gather?

Thanks Ian and BA!

Yeah, I am really breaking my goal of finishing one bash before starting another! Way too many in progress now, I need to finish some.

Only changes to this Pumpkinhead will be the modified tail.

I need to complete this one this week as my wife plans to take it and one of my werewolf bashes to the jewelry shop, where she works part time, to put in one of their windows for the Fredericksburg downtown shops Halloween display event for the month of October.

Thanks Trevor !
Started painting, hopefully I can get the new modified tail parts to closely match the previous paint job .

I also plan to do some more dry brushing to try and highlight the fantastic detail on this sculpt.

I am pretty happy with how the base paint job looks. Just A little more dry rushing and washes to do.

Thanks guys!

Added some skulls to the tombstones. Skulls are much darker mossy bronze than they look in the pics

I am pretty happy with how the paint on the new tail parts matches the rest of the tail and body.
Just need to do a bit of dry brushing and touch up the eyes and this will be done.

Thanks for looking !

It looks great. Nice blending job on the paint, and fits great on the base.
