Like the belly better now - more realistic without those "extra" belly spikes. Like the color scheme.

You're getting REAL CLOSE NOW ...

Thanks B-A! Hopefully so.
Should not have to make any more sculpture mods, so “just” have to finish painting…

As I was working on painting , I couldn’t get the back spine details to really “pop” and stand out.
Decided to rework, add, and exaggerate details along back spikes.
Hopefully), when I apply washes and dry brush, these tendons, higher ridges and deeper crevices will stand out.
Still some refining of these new details left to do, but I am liking this much more gnarly look.

That last photo is the best angle I've seen yet!

As far as the unfinished paint job ... well ... you know .....

One problem with too many repaints (without stripping paint in between) is that fine details can be lost.
This happened with the head, so I am replacing it with a new black heart reign of fire dragon head.
(I highly recommend the black heart dragon heads, amazing details for relatively small sculpts).

Also taking this opportunity to make the jaws wider apart for more of a screeching pose.
I will extend the top horns again and also need to put in back webbing between upper and lower jaw.
The real trick will be to paint this new head only one time to maintain all the details.

Thanks again to everyone who is following this dragon bash, and hanging in there through all the restarts.

Like the new head (that's such a weird sentence).

It is amazing the damage that resin dust can do to a paint job.
When I tried to clean up the wings and body from the resin dust from cutting off the head and dust from reworking the back details resulted in a too dull and too brownish color (from the required re-staining).
So, going back to a more vibrant red and black scheme.
I will tone these colors down some, and add some black/red mottling to wings, but not as much as before.

VERY NICE!!!

Now .... please just hit that puppy with a few darker OIL WASHES (not more paint), claim VICTORY, kick back with a beverage ... and read the plaudits that will cascade down onto this thread!!!

And, as far as thread views go, you are light years ahead of us mere mortals!

I'm ecstatic about my cartoon thread having gone over 2000 views;

I'll bet you don't even take notice til you're over - what - 10,000? :rolf:

Oh , in this case I am definitely going to follow your recommendation as I am so very ready to be done with this bash !

Regarding the view counts ; I always just figured it was only you , Trevor and Ian looking at the given bash several times every day …

Honestly though ,I am amazed and sincerely appreciative of the number of views .
I do wonder how many individuals have taken a look??

I THINK I remember Trev posting recently that he has no way of telling that.

Regardless - given the point that's being made, and the title of the thread . . .

Thanks guys !

Ian , wow - that “one thread” graphic is awesome - thank you!!
That’s a keeper !

Is there anyway you could send me the graphic of just the dragon ?
I think I can use that in many ways - maybe even put it on a t-shirt !
