Glad I popped in here. Figured someone else would have posted this info by now, but I don't see it.

Terry and Dave are well aware of the printer's screw up of not putting the mags in envelopes.
They posted on FB that the printer stepped up and is correcting the issue by resending all subscription in an envelope.

So, everyone should be getting a 2nd copy a week or two after the first one arrived.

I've known Terry a long time, and I don't think I've ever heard him as pissed off as when he told me about that printer snafu.
Yeah - I bet. The label thing was a one-off though . . . it's the poor quality envelopes that result in the shipping damage - and THAT has been consistent on all of the recent subscription issues I've received.

I'd gladly have paid extra for stronger envelopes PLUS a bag + backing board, but that option has never been available.

I'll buy local from now on. That way I can inspect what I'm buying and everyone is happy :)

Just read the rest of David's article on page 2 . . . regarding the changes to content that he & Terry are considering for the future.

I liked what I read. Good for them. But since I don't do Facebook, and I don't think David/Terry visit the Clubhouse, if someone could add a "LIKE" on Facebook on my behalf (as regards the possible changes) then they would have my thanks :)

Happened to be in our local Barnes & Noble to do what I call a "mag check" to see if any of the genre mags have content that would interest me. Lo and behold was AFM on the rack! This is a first here for B&N, as they never carried it here in Delaware previously. In years past, a local comic shop carried all the kit mags until he sold it to a new owner.

Times change and that makes me even more glad that AFM is still strong and expanding it's exposure.

So is this actually happening? (I haven't received a 2nd copy).

Well, it's been another month, and I never got a replacement copy - must have been specific criteria the printers used - maybe they didn't ship replacements to International customers Image

At least I won't have to worry about shipping problems from now on (thanks to Felix / yellowcat).

It's not - we get things delivered by Polar bears and Moose.

They're not as comfortable to ride as Horses - but they sure clear a way through traffic!

I think T&D are rounding up straggling articles and getting it ready for the printers. Should be a great issue! }-)

Heavy Metal Spike wrote:Just wanted to give a public shout-out to Felix (yellowcat).

Since he lives local to me, I contacted him via PM to nail-down where to buy from, and he gave me all sorts of interesting info.

I now have an accessible comic store that will be getting THIS issue (#67) in next Wednesday.

So only 1½ weeks behind postal delivery PLUS no shipping charges (saves $6-$7 CAD per issue) PLUS (most importantly!) no shipping damage.

Thanks again Felix - you've been really helpful, and have assuaged my concerns going forward  =D> =D> =D> :thumb2:

Like the quote says . . . :thumb2:

Latest issue (#68) arrived yesterday at my local comic store, picked up today - and PERFECT condition.

Not looked through it yet - saved for tonight & tomorrow.

Way to go Felix!
