• This is our home-away-from-home.
  
  It’s survived 20 years because of good subject-matter, good membership, and good staff. It’s survived because of a good community.
  
  • • • • It’s unique.
  • • • • • • • • . . . and it’s OURS.
  
  
  
  It’s ours because WE use it to share, because WE use it to help each-other, and because WE use it to relax.
  
  • • • • It’s ours because WE fund it. PERIOD. No adverts, no pop-ups, no control by Google, Facebook, Twitter or Amazon.
  • • • • • • • • We are not beholden to ANYONE other than ourselves and our hosting service. And we want to keep it that way.

• NONE of us want this place to go away, it’s too important to lose, but it can’t survive on hard work & goodwill alone.
  
  3 years back, over a period of 3 months (April/May/June 2018), we had almost 100 people open up their hearts and wallets to keep us alive.
  
  But our hosting service “pot of gold” is now empty, and we need an injection of funds to carry us forward.
  
  Given the reduced activity compared to our peak years, Trev recently put in a HUGE amount of effort to research cheaper options & transfer all our history . . . the result being that it NOW costs around $70 per month to provide the platform & keep our domain name registered.
  
  Using that estimate, we are hoping to raise enough to fund the next 3-5 years, and it would be great if we could achieve that by the end of June.

We’re 2 days into the funding drive, and thanks to the 1st SIXTEEN reprobates that stepped up to the plate, swung, and hit (is that right? – I don’t do baseball), we’re already (almost) at the $1,000 mark.
