G-FEST XXIV

#1 Post by timetraveler »

The modeling program/contest at G-Fest XXIV was officially designated "The John Petik Memorial Year". It was an outstanding venue with virtually every modeling class and demo being conducted by persons who were friends and acquaintances of John. The contest had many exceptional entries, with Legrandzilla displaying an incredible 20 (any one of which would easily qualify as a "winner") entries. In addition to the "regulars", there were also entries from contestants self-identified as "new to kaiju modeling" but already displaying an abundance of skill and imagination. Perhaps "juniors" in age, but certainly not in talent the "young-uns" as John would refer to youthful contestants had on display many striking pieces advancing the kaiju modeling tradition. For me however, the highlight was being able to hang-out with pals, remembering and honoring a great friend in a setting that was very special to him.

p.s. While I do not have a photographic record that I can post, I encourage anyone who may have pictures of the event to please consider posting them on the Clubhouse.

That is so awesome. This made my day, thanks for that.

Thanks for posting. I know John enjoyed Gfest immensely.
And had lots of friends up there.
Glad everyone had a chance to hang out and remember him.
