New G-Fest hotel closing.

#1 Post by DenZilla »

I just learned that The Rosemont Wyndham hotel that WAS to be the new site for G-Fest 17 is closing Jan.1st. I just emailed J.D. Lees and asked if he had found a new site yet and will let everyone know when he replies.I suggested the Crowne Plaza in Louisville where Wonderfest is held. Hey raydrz...How cool would that be?

I hope it's not in Louisville, cause that will probably mean I am out, and I already paid for the 'Fest and my hotel. Think that will mean I lost the hotel money?

not for a cancellation this far in advance... normally you only lose your $ if you cancel within 24 hrs of your reservation.
id call them and cancel before they shut the doors though!

I just talked to J.D. He said he is working on it and should resolve the matter soon enough. He will post info on g-fan.com when all is settled. Don't worry John, it will be held in Chicago as far as he knew and I can't imagine you'd be screwed by the original hotel although I guess it's always a possibility.

Merry Christmas to all my kaiju brothers and fellow modelers!!! :xmas:

Sometimes these kind of decisions are made quick I guess. I forgot you live outside of Chitown. Louisville would be closer to brother Bilal and I but only by 5 hrs.

Got a call yesterday from the new hotel cancelling the reservation. Hopefully, JD will get it all worked out.

I canceled mine today...Kinda disconcerting to have them set up the hotel and have it close soon after, but at least it didn't close in June or the 'Fest would have been screwed this year! :(
