His son posted the news at Hobby Talk, where he used to be active. I believe he's best known for his website.

Oh man. :cry:
This one hits hard. I used to correspond with him regularly back in the day when he was working on his site. Helping him track down information and photos.

Sadly, when they redid the forums over there at HobbyTalk, I lost interest in trying to sort things out. Before that, I would stop in at least a couple times a week to see how things were going.

I know what you mean! I never talked much with him but his info he posted was always helpful and fun to read.
Sadly there are many older guys from back in the day leaving us.
