I had the pleasure of dealing with Jim on several occasions and he was always great to deal with. He was a very kind hearted soul and a talented painter. Sad news, indeed

I cast a few kits for Jim, and he was always a pleasure to both talk to and deal with. I was just thinking about him the other day, wondering what he's been up to. I am deeply saddened by this, and I want to wish his family and friends fond memories and better days ahead.

WOW, sad news, just heard about this while talking with XOFacto this evening.

Jim helped get me started in the hobby with my first commission sculpt, Lady Z, back in 1999-2000. It was always a pleasure to talk with him, and we had even discussed doing more work together.

Condolences to the family, and to long time friends.

That is truly sad news! I purchased the Hydrodon from him a few years back and was so impressesd with his communication skills. He responded several times a week, and when I finally got my monster, I was so impressed with all the extra attention to the kit. He knew. I wanted it badly, so my copy says #1 on it and he thru in a tiny sub for scale comparison. He was exceptionally kind and generous. I believe he and another gentleman came out with a black and white modeller's mag a few years back too. Truly sorry Scott. Both yourself and his family have my sympathy and empathy. Take care.

Oh no... I first met him at The Chiller when he first released the Lady Z. He was very adamant about himself double checking the kit to make sure it was all there. He even ended up throwing in a second sword because he wasn't happy with the one in the box. We ended up chatting for a quite a while at the Chiller. I've purchased a few kits from him over the last couple of years through the mail and at the Wonderfest. Always a super nice guy to deal with. The hobby has lost a true gem...

I'm absolutely floored! This is a shock to say the least. Jim was awesome. We built several of the same kits and he always replied to my stuff. He was truly an inspiration to me. He motivated me to go beyond with his work on Jesse's Dazzler by incorporating glitter to it. Its one of my most prized works.
Peace be with you in resin heaven buddy. you will be missed.
Again, I cant believe it. This sucks!

My heartfelt sympathies to his family and loved ones. It seemed like only a few weeks ago I spoke to Jim, and was recently lucky enough to get one of his Hydrodon kits. This is sad news indeed.
