RIP John...
Glad to hear his kitties will be cared for. I'm sure that would have been first on his requests to be tended to...

Damn Petik! You went Houdini on us when we all looked away. You were a big voice here at the CH and we'll miss you dearly.

Such a sad a terrible loss. He loved cats, playing in his band, and of course model kits. He was kind and helpful to me more than once. Sadly missed here on the CH and everywhere. God's blessings to his family and God's peace to him.

Stunned, shocked and immensely saddened to hear of this. John was a stalwart here and there will be a vacuum here that can never be filled. Rest in peace, John, you will most definitely be missed!

Re: John Petik RIP
Very sad news indeed. I'll take a leap and say that all of us, particularly those who attended shows like WF with him, will really miss his presence. John was my roommate at WF in 2014 but I've probably known him for well over a decade. Such a nice guy and he loved this hobby. It makes me wish I'd had at least one more chance to just say hello at a show or even a more recent message exchange... Seriously, he was a regular fixture in my mind at WF and I'll probably find myself looking for him next time before I catch myself.

Horrible news, and yet more proof that 2016 is the crappiest year on record. John was such a welcoming guy. I know he'll be great missed by all the friends he's made over the years.

Re: John Petik RIP
OMG - NO !!!!
John - my trusted FRIEND.
Buddy - I'm stunned right now. You know how much we wanted to meet one-another.
We have lost a Clubhouse great . . . even-tempered, thoughtful, loyal, cheery, forgiving, encouraging . . . caring.
A list of superlatives would be endless, but we all know how HUGE a part of our community John was and how much we all admired him for who and what he was. He ADORED this hobby, this forum, AND his music, and always bent over backwards to say nice things about others.
It would be impossible to count the ways he has impressed us all over the years, and impossible to size how much he will be missed.
My heart goes out to all his friends and family - including everyone here.
John - Raydrz - BROTHER - I'm gonna miss you SO much man . . . say hi to Phil, Gary, Lemmy & co. for me - we WILL meet up one day - I promise.
I am gutted. TRULY gutted. The good really DO die young.

I am just devastated! John was the total package: kind, encouraging, artistic, astute and enthusiastic. To spend time with him was to be with a friend. Chatting with John at an event was a must. Warm and welcoming and incredibly witty he could bring a smile and laugh with just his inflection. He knew everything about the GK field though his encyclopedic knowledge was exceeded only by his easygoing, genuine humility. I will greatly miss him. A sad day.
