RIP Shawn McLaughlin

#1 Post by Buc Wheat »

Learned that Shawn McLaughlin passed away yesterday.

One of the godfathers of our hobby...for those of you who remember
DEATH,INC, and a mainstay of the Chiller staff, Shawn was always smiling
and I'll always hear that great laugh of his!

RIP, shippie! Save me a rum & coke for when we meet again.

I used to talk with Shawn all the time, way back when long distance phone
calls weren't cheap. lol

And he was always working on something. Great guy, and quite the
character. And ALWAYS going for the laugh. I think his best was being
able to talk my ex into sending him a picture she took of me, sitting on
the john, while working on a model kit. Shawn then made sure that ALL
saw the picture by giving it to Gordy Dutt, who then proceeded to feature
it in their 'parody' section in an issue of Kitbuilders Magazine.
(Due to the trauma of the whole incident, I have conveniently "forgotten" which
issue that actually happens to be, but I'm sure someone will point it out.) hahaha

Good times, Shawn, good times.
