I was stunned and shocked by the very sad news. John inspired me to become a kit producer. RIP John.

Is there Obituary for John?
Nostalgia can be a bad thing, especially when you are led by it.

Re: Rest in peace JOHN TUCKY, one of the true GK godfathers
I haven't been on-site much lately and just found this news.
This is very depressing to hear, even though John and I didn't know each other beyond our business transactions and occasional posts, he was always friendly and just the kind of guy this hobby needs. I met him at my one and only Wonderfest appearance way back when and dealt with him here at the Clubhouse.
My memories are of a friendly guy... funny, intelligent, witty... one of the most reliable producers you could ask to do business with... and he helped me get kits that were no longer available, going through trouble he didn't have to so he could help out a guy he barely knew.
I hit his Facebook page and got the latest news, which has been so unkind for Jeff, Em, and everyone else that was close to him. My heart goes out to all of you.
Like many here, I mourn the passing of a fellow hobbyist, great guy, and key contributor to this hobby.
John Tucky will be missed.

Another sad part of the domino effect following John's passing - looks like the pictures stored on John's site (http://www.xofacto.com) and linked here, are no more

I noticed that too, Spike. The site went offline a few months after John's passing. None of the Model Museum links for his submissions work anymore.

I'm embarrassed to admit that due to my own personal circumstances I completely forgot the dates here.
It's now a couple of weeks since the first anniversary of John's passing (John left us on March 1st 2019).
Still miss his "cheekiness" and his contributions to the hobby.
So pleased that Jeff picked up the baton.
Whatever you're up to John - you know there are plenty of us that remember you fondly dude. You will never be forgotten.

We think about John often since his passing, my wife and I never met him in person but we became friends on the Internet and Telephone, we bought a lot of kits from him, and we all shared a love and interest in cats. John would always go out of his way to help us with our modeling needs and modeling tips, he was a super nice guy and we will always remember him and miss him, he was a great friend and a real important contributor to our hobby!

I wanted to remind folks it is now (as of March 1st 2021) 2 years since John passed.
John was someone who could on occasion piss people off, but his contributions made so many thankful he was part of our hobby. He was a real character.
To you Mr. Tucky . . . I miss our debates, our skirmishes, and our interactions - you were one of a kind!
