Rest in peace JOHN TUCKY, one of the true GK godfathers
This is news that affects so many of us here: John Tucky of X-O Facto, one of our hobby's most respected and longest-standing producers, has reportedly died. I know little more than that right now.
I didn't get this news firsthand but read Paul Gill's posting in the Figure Model Kits group on Facebook. I figured this should be shared here at the Clubhouse where he was so active for years.
It was my pleasure to work with John on several of his productions in the last year. I'm going to miss him very much.

That is insane. Really sorry to hear it. He had his moments but he definitely was one of the great producers with a crazy list of models that a lot of people actively seek out.
RIP Sir Tucky.
RIP Sir Tucky.

This sucks in Johnny Raydrz proportions... John was a unique fella who was never afraid to open his mouth when he had a strong opinion... he will be missed. I dug the dude and enjoyed talking to him...

Holy crap.
Thanks for letting us know Todd.
John's activity here has been drastically reduced over the last year or so, and we all knew he was going through some health challenges - but I guess we all thought it was stuff that he would recover from.
There's all sorts of possibilities going through my head right now.
Terrible news.

This is very sad news.
I only ever spoke directly with John a couple of times over the years but we exchanged messages from time to time, both hobby and non-hobby related.
I tried contacting him about about five or six days ago when I noticed he wasn't posting any thing to his FB page - he was a prolific poster on FB.
When I got back into this hobby it primarily through John and his tremendous line-up of kits.
But more than a kit producer, in my interactions with him I found him to be a good person.

Re: Rest in peace JOHN TUCKY, one of the true GK godfathers
John and I became friends over the last couple of years.
He helped us run our group on Facebook and he took pride in it.
He was our Rock Star !!
He would call me on the weekends when I was doing graveyard shifts
and we would laugh our heads off with hobby talk and just life stuff.
Im glad I have those memories, I believe we both learned alot together and I will always remember him fondly and as a friend.

Re: Rest in peace JOHN TUCKY, one of the true GK godfathers
I'm very rattled. Hell, I've got a shelf full of "Eye Candy" parts I hoped to send John in the coming week, and the figure molds for his "Burn Baby Burn." Such neat stuff. John was the guy I most wanted to work for when I went "freelance" because X-O Facto productions were always among the best. When I did do some work with him, he was a model client. Couldn't ask for better treatment.
And yeah, he was great to speak with as well. So much knowledge, so friendly ... but so often at odds with people. One of the things I'll give him is that he didn't carry that into conversations with me.

Re: Rest in peace JOHN TUCKY, one of the true GK godfathers
This is awful, terrible news. The CH has lost one of its luminaries, and The Hobby has lost an irreplaceable champion.
X-O Facto, while it was active, was an invaluable resource to the hobby community. John himself personally went out of his way 12 years ago to help me secure an uber-rare kit (he arranged for the producer to do a special rotocasting of a gigantic "Toho Kong" resin garage kit for me). I was just talking with him on Facebook last year when I joined the Hobby Modeling page that he helped run.
Rest in Peace.
