RIP Brian.
Although I didn’t know him personally, I will remember him as the one who sculpted my favorite A/C Glenn Strange Frankenstein.

Geez.
I didn't know Brian that well. He used to post a fair bit, but stopped June last year.
Hope that didn't indicate the start of a debilitating illness (but then sometimes it's worse if it comes as a shock too).
He was one of the kind folks that helped with the last funding drive too (anonymously).
Sympathies to his friends & Family.
Thanks for letting us know Todd.

Re: And now we've lost BRIAN HAMILTON
Over the years, I had a couple of model trading experiences with Brian. A very nice fellow. Will be missed.

Brian was a good guy. Damned talented. The kind of talent that didn't require a huge ego to support. Another loss to the community.

Always a very supportive person with our endeavors.
I didn't know him that well, but he seemed like a genuinely nice person.
So sad. This has been a very bad week for the Hobby.
Prayers sent for his surviving family and friends.

Nicely expressed my friend. Lets hold those we cherish a little bit closer these days.Graybeard wrote:Always a very supportive person with our endeavors.

I always enjoyed seeing Brian's sculptures. He really captured likenesses nicely. His painting was impressive, too.

Re: And now we've lost BRIAN HAMILTON
I'm just stunned into disbelief at this moment. Another friend gone. He was indeed incredibly kind and extremely talented as both a sculptor and painter. Just a sincerely gracious person.
We were both encouraging each other over the years to sculpt a Hammer Phantom figure of Herbert Lom just leaping from the opera box to save Christine. I should have done it for him..........I just want to cry.
Rest well my friend

Brian Hamilton
I didn't see it mentioned here, and know a lot of guys here don't use Facebook. Sorry to say that Brian has died. He was one of my favorite artists, and also a good friend.
I wrote this earlier :
I know I'm late on this, but I was away and wanted to wait until I had time to write.
Brian Hamilton and I have known each other for several years. We had so many of the same favorite characters and movies. For me, besides Brian being one of the nicest people I've met in this business, he was a great sculptor who concentrated his efforts on so many of the same characters I was into.
He had his own style, and I just loved it. While he never put the most crisp detail into a piece, in fact, sometimes you could say they were even soft on detail, BUT somehow--everything was there, and it was always Right.
He was a fantastic painter as well, and every compliment I can give his sculpting ability can go for his painting skills, too.
We shared a particular love from Vincent Price's House of Wax character, Professor Henry Jarrod. He bought the first lifesize Jarrod bust I sold, and until recently would often bring up how happy he was to have gotten one. The other big one we talked about was James Arness' The Thing From Another World. I don't know anyone who liked those two characters like Brian did.
We'd often share progress pics with each other, and ask one another for some art direction, and some general conversation about movies and assorted monsters.
He told me several months ago he had gotten sick and he wouldn't be around for very long. We still talked now and again, but a month or so ago and communication back from him stopped. I'm thankful to have had all those conversations with him, and will surely miss them in the future.
Here is one of his pieces that I painted, Boris Karloff from The Raven. Incredible sculpture, and another of the fun characters Brian sculpted.
Would anyone like to post a picture of one of Brian's pieces below? I'd love to see them.

Brian was a great guy, had several conversations with him over the years about the hobby, movies, sculpting techniques. He enjoyed every aspect of this hobby as few do/can.
He will be missed.
