Don Matthys Of Don’s Light and Magic passed away. Did not know him personally, just bought things from him. He had tons of cool stuff for sale for years big loss to the hobby. Condolences to his friends and loved ones.
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be! -Puck

Yeah, I didn't know him either, but I did know of him.
Not sure if he was a member here or not, but I know a lot of people in the hobby were familiar with him.

This is becoming an all too common occurrence. :(

RIP Don Matthys of Don's Light and Magic

https://www.wrightfuneral.com/obituary/ ... e-matthys/ For those who may not have heard, Don passed away over the weekend. He was a gentleman and an artist. We didn't agree on many things outside the hobby but he was a good guy and always supportive even if it was a quick call or email when he saw something was going wrong. I was a customer of his for years and the hobby has suffered a great loss. He had a lot on his plate personally over the last few years and still tried to support the hobby as best he could. I find it sad and quite telling that some have taken this opportunity to bash him and disclose some very personal information about him that had no business in the public arena. Don deserves a proper thank you for all he did for the hobby. I pray for his family and friends that they will find peace in the coming weeks. His company will carry on thanks to some kind friends in the hobby who are taking over things for the family but Don will never be replaced. Thank you Don for all you have done to support our hobby. You are missed already...

I saw a post from CultTVMan. I didn't know Don, but it's always sad to see another hobby brother lost to the sands of time. :(

Well that's sad. He had a great business and great products too. I didn't know him personally but had dealings with him many times and had no problems, ever! Through an email he once helped me with a self imposed problem and graciously gave his time to help me out. Why people have to make malicious attacks on open forums is an insult to the hobbyist and hobby as a whole. It's just uncalled for! Glad to know his business will continue as I'm sure he is too.

My he be in a better place and wish well for the family.

I just looked up his website and what he did modeling wise.
It's interesting
