I have only seen it mentioned in one place so far, but in the Facebook group Modeler's Lair, Rob Salony wrote:

"it is with extreme sadness that I announce that Vincent "Vin" Vincent Bordogna has passed away. Vin was a friend and a great guy who had a true passion for the hobby. He was the owner of Resin Crypt models and he put out some amazing kits. He is a pioneer in the hobby and will truly be missed."

Can anyone confirm?

I found a listing at the bottom of this funeral home's obituaries page. https://www.richardsfuneralhome.com

"Bordogna, Vincent, 56, of Clifton passed away April 2, 2020. Beloved son of Angelo Bordogna and the late Maria (Panza) Bordogna. Loving brother of Anna McInnis and her late husband Clay, uncle of Anthony McInnis. Also survived by fiancé Lenore Pannisa. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Donations in Vincent's memory can be made to American Diabetes Association, diabetes.org. Arrangements entrusted to Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale."

I was just scrolling through the photos on the Resin Crypt Facebook page. He brought so many cool pieces into the hands of kit aficionados. This year just sucks.

Yeah - tell me about it! :(

I didn't know Vin well, but from his posts I've seen over the years, along with his involvement with "Resintopia", and from MaryAnne's website that Otto linked to, it's obvious he was a really nice guy.

Given he resided in NJ, and he appears to have had issues with diabetes (one of the high-risk groups for COVID-19) I wonder if he is the first of our community to fall foul of that.

My sincere best wishes & sympathies to all his friends and family - seems like he made the hobby and the world a better place for being in it.

I read this today too. Vin was a class act and great producer of many memorable and beautifully designed kits. I’m so sorry to learn this. May he Rest In Peace.

My wife and I are truly saddened by the news of Vin's passing, we met him at WONDERFEST 2012 and he was a very nice fella, we have bought many kits from him over the years and he is a real loss to this hobby as well as to his family and friends.
We pray for God to be with his family and friends during this very sad time.
"R.I.P. Vin you will be truly missed by us all!"

I had purchased many kits from Vin in the past and was glad to finally meet him in person at Jerseyfest in 2018. Really nice guy and I am so sorry to hear about his passing.

No. He passed away from a heart attack according to what I read on FB.
Several people were asking about the possibility of it being from Corona.

He was definitely a presence in the hobby, and he will be missed.

Wow - at that young age and he appeared to have no weight issues - so sad.

Thanks for letting us know Trev.

Shocking news to wake up to this morning, Vin was very appreciative of my build-ups of Resin Crypt models.

I am gutted.

I remember when he started at the OLD Chiller Shows. Back when it was good and worth going to for model kits.

I am at a total loss.

One of only a handful of people that have been into my home. He will be greatly missed with his legacy of fantastic kits.

Really really sad news a top fella always helpful and produced some of the best kits in the hobby. Thoughts are with his family during a really tough time. You will be missed my friend.

I was stunned when I saw this thread and just in shock. Vin and I worked some together as I did a base for Blood of Dracula, designed Deadly intruder based on the scene he wanted to do, and concept ideas for the Ingrid Pitt tribute. I always found Vin to be such and easy going person who was always welcoming and had a huge respect for the sculptors who worked with him. We often talked kits and he was so humble about his contribution to the hobby. This contribution can not be understated, from creating kits that are high points in the hobby to putting together Resintopia.

We last talked at Jerseyfest and his kits were unsurprisingly selling well. They have a distinctive style and Robert Price's partnership created an unmistakable Resin Crypt style. This is heartbreaking and my most sincere condolences to Lenore and his family. I'm just shocked and numb.

I am only an humble, far living modeller of another country in the other half of the world. Not a close friend. have dealt with him only two times, maybe three for a few of his wonderful figures. But I always had in return politeness, friendship, extreme courtesy and I could really feel the love he had for the hobby. A love he was able to transmit to others like me. My condolences to his family and the hope his many years labour of love will not now be wasted.

Post from Vin in regard to John Tucky's equally untimely passing:

I was stunned and shocked by the very sad news. John inspired me to become a kit producer. RIP John.
