Aaron Thurston......Sad News

#1 Post by Cous3 »

Guys, it is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that one of our active members here at the CH has this morning passed away after a long illness. I was informed today by Dave who had just spoken with Aaron's dad.

Aaron Thurston 37 (Hamming It Up) was a top notch painter and all round good guy who will be missed by many. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Keith

Way too young. We knew this was going to be a hard battle. He put up a good fight. It's sad to have one of our own leave us like this. My deepest sympathies to his family. Godspeed Aaron!

My God... How sad. Prayers to his family and stuff. That's unreal to die so young.

This is truly sad news. I didn’t know Aaron well but from what little I did he was a really great guy. My thought and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Aaron showed a lot of strength and character in his fight, and always came across as a man with a good heart and a friendly camaraderie. Rest in peace Aaron; we'll miss your presence, but treasure your memory.

Indeed very sad news... I met him at WF in '06, too.
He was a nice guy and I'll miss his work here and the articles for AFM.....
My condolences to his family in this troubled time.
RIP.

I think it would be fitting if old and new members took a little time to relive some of Aaron's talent while his website is still available:
http://www.aaronsmodels.co.uk/

I myself will begin transferring as many pics as I can to the Model Museum server, so as it is never lost to us.

A liitle something I just ran across I think its fitting
What sweetness in this life
Does not partake of earthly sadness?
What expectation is not in vain,
And where amongst men is the happy man?
All is changeful, all is paltry
That with difficulty we have gained
What glory on earth
Stands firm and unchanging?
All is ashes, a phantom, shadow and smoke,
All vanishes like a whirlwind of dust,
And before death we stand
Unarmed and powerless.
The arm of the mighty man is weak,
Null are the commands of kings
Receive thy servant now fallen asleep,
O Lord, into the dwellings of the blessed.

Met Aaron this past WF, spent time laughing and talking kits, hard to believe as it was just a short time ago.
God Bless you Aaron as your soul passes, your talent here on earth will live on.

wow, I just happened upon this post on my way out the door....I just don't even know what to say.

To Aaron's family, hang in there, and take comfort in the fact that Aaron touched the lives of many through his hobby. Evidence of Aaron's talent will be around forever in print and on the internet for many to enjoy for years to come.
