The Beatles... Revell Originals

#1 Post by dklange »

I was able to get all four of the original Revell kits of the Beatles.

I added a complete drum kit for Ringo.... it does not have the same finish as his but it's the same drums....

I also added the electric cords to Pauls' bass and George's guitar.

The likenesses are okay... and I'm sure for the standards of 1964 they were great!

Great job! I agree, for 1964 the likeness is pretty good, especially Paul. Nice drum kit for Ringo also.

Thanks, zibbazabba and Mark!!

These kits are pretty rare and can be expensive... I found them at different times... and at reasonable prices.

Really fun to build!

Super job on these. They can be very hard to find at any reasonable price.
I'm keeping my eyes open... but we can always hope that Revell will reissue them in 2014 as a 50th anniversary edition.

I've seen them in person!!! Actually I've only seen Paul in person but I have seen Denis's models in person at Wonderfest last year and they are excellent as is all his work. Denis, I am about to order the rooftop John and Paul. And hopefully in the not too distant future I will add George and Ringo.

Very nice! I have a set of these that I restored some years back -- build ups that had been long covered in sloppy enamel paint -- but several moves later, some are in pieces and need fixing. I have that drum kit in the box -- but don't know if I'll ever build it -- so many teeny little pieces!!!

They are all fantastic. The drum kit looks like a set of vistalites. Can I ask who makes it or where you got it?

The drum kit is from Academy. It's a 1/8 scale kit with a LOT of very small pieces.
