"Feel Lucky? Well do ya, punk?"

#1 Post by sirjames678 »

Here's a great kit that came from Robb and those great folks at DARK CANIVAL Expertly sculpted by CHRIS WOOTEN (I think), it's a really fun kit and a pleasure to paint. Hardest part of doing the b/u was deciding whether I should paint his suit brown as it was in MAGNUM FORCE (from which I ]believe this sculpt derives) or with the gray sports coat and red sweater he wore in DIRTY HARRY. I obviously opted for the latter as, I seldom get a chance to put any color into my kits

I'll take that as a compliment, but , by all means, don't throw rocks at yours. Although there's been no manipulation of the image, just remember that things can look a lot different in photos.

I painted mine the same way, except I did putty in the buttons on the vest to make it more like the sweater vest. It was definitely Chris Wooten who sculpted this beauty. He nailed the likeness, too.

WOW! A very impressive build. And Clint looks so young!

His clothing is incredible. May I ask how you painted the jacket? His flesh and hair are exquisite. Superb detailing.

A spectacular build!

Excellent, all the way around.
But the cloths really finish the kit.

Thanks everybody. Anyone who's remotely interested in Clint or the DIRTY HARRY films MUST get this piece (if it's still available).

Many, many thanks! Because it's such a wonderful sculpt, it's a pretty easy paint job. As for the jacket, I used a "stiple" technique. First, I painted the jacket a medium shade of gray. Then mixed a diluted, lighter shade of the same gray color and dipped a toothbrush's bristles into it. Then, I dragged my thumb across the bristles, which creates a spattering effect. I did this several times with different shades of gray and even a light tan to achieve the desired effect. Finally, washed in some darker color for the shadow areas. Hope, this helps. B.

Thanks fellow CH members. And it's always a great feeling when the sculptor takes the time to post a comment. Thanks Chris.
