Frankenstein Bust WIP...updated 4/14

#1 Post by Pteroflux »

I recently re-organized my model closet and came upon this little guy. I have no idea who did the sculpt, but I think I picked it up at a Wonderfest in the early 90's....I think. In any case, it seemed like a project for a rainy weekend. Here's what I've got so far. Skin is about done. Eyes, neck electrodes, and stitches hopefully tomorrow....

Any help the origins of this sculpt would be appreciated. Thanks.

It was a really early piece sculpted by a young Randy Bowen...he referred to it as his baseball stitch Frankenstein.

Did some more work on the skin around the stitches. Eyes are roughed in. Painted neck electrodes. The base was primed black, followed by sponging on Citadel colors (greens, grays, purple). I then used mineral spirits to muddle the colors together a little. I've sprayed about 694 coats of Future on it to get a glossy look. (OK, maybe not 694, but enough that I lost count) That's it for now.

A little gloss on the eyes, some felt pads under the base, and he's done! Pics on the Model Museum Board.

Thanks for the comments everyone :)
