THE HOWLING!!

#1 Post by sirjames678 »

From Paul Gill and Mark Van Tine comes this awesome bust of Eddie Quist from THE HOWLING. Amazingly sculpted and flawlessly cast, this beauty is a must have for any kit collector. Kudos to the guys at Gillman Studios and a special thumbs up to whichever of you two came up with the idea to sculpt the movie poster as the kit's base. Pure genius! I hope that, whenever posssible, this will become a growing trend!

P.S. This one's for Joe B. who's stunning build-ups always inspire me to pick up my paint brush and get to work!

Wow !!!!! Brian this is great work I'm glad the kit was so well received! !! The original idea for the base was also very cool
But we decided to change it . Mark actually decided to make it the Movie poster. . Thank you again for sharing these pics and supporting Mark and me on our Monster Quest. The next classic is just around the bend.

Thanks, Chris. I started by painting EDDIE brown, but he just didn't look right. After checking on line pics, I learned that the blonde/ tan look he had in the film probably was due to studio lights/ gels.

Thanks, Paul. As I mentioned to you before, I usually stay with the Classic Universal Monsters, but this one was just too good to pass up. Can't wait to see what you guys have up your sleeves for the next release.

Joe, I had to get this one done, before you raised the bar with your build-up.

Looks even better painted. Awesome work by everyone and I agree, that base kicks butt.

Thanks everyone! Forgot to add one of the happy face stickers (which came with the kit) to the base. That oversight has since been rectified!
