Hi guys. This is an incredible Alien bust sculpted by Francisco Charlie Hernandez. I painted it with an airbrush, oils, oil washes and pastels. Any thoughts are most welcome. Thanks guys!
Thought I wrote about this one earlier today. Whatever ... I love it. The great thing about aliens is that you really can't go wrong with a paint-up. Ten artists paint it, ten completely different interpretations on the theme, all 100% right. Your's really knocked this one out of the park. Love those eyes ... I think of an alien eye, I think of something insect or lizard like. I love this piece, almost bought it myself, but veered off into another direction, with another alien from his body of work. I love your color palette, the alien blues and greens, anything but flesh tones, leave those colors for humans.
thanks so much for sharing ...

Hey Richard. You did say something, not sure what happened to it. Odd. Thanks a lot. This guy was a lot of fun. Ive been doing commissions for people and ive gotten a bit burned out. This one was for me and it was cleansing, lol. I didnt plan anything out, i just started throwing paint at it. Im really happy with how it turned out. I wanted to go away from anything ive seen. I found two other paint ups of this guy and both were in the brown or beige range so i wanted to go with something different. Started with a plum/black glaze and went from there. Had a lot of fun with this. Its nice to paint without pressure
That looks great. I love how overall it reads grey but you've masterfully layered and stippled all sorts of purples and blue making the skin tone feel alive. Fantastic.
