YOU’RE NEXT

#1 Post by csoldier »

Finally got lap-top back from the menders so here’re some photos of the Werewolf released by Fantasy Realms. When originally released it was with a Red Riding-Hood figure, but thankfully he was released as a single figure as well. I didn’t get the Red Riding Hood figure so no idea how big she is, but I think the scale is said to be 1/8th, that said, the werewolf does seem to fit 1/6th quite well. Size wise it is comparable to the Moonsinger kit.

I understand the sculptor is Chris Gabrish, and this is a menacing beast. The only addition to the stock figure was the addition of a tail from a werewolf pre-paint statue – I just felt a tail was a missing necessity.

The base is slightly enhanced. To get the static grass to stand upright, I took the plunge and nabbed a Noch static grass applicator off of ebay – these are ridiculously expensive for what they are, but I got a substantial saving and as I didn’t have much success with cheaper version, and didn’t have any rubber balloons to hand…….

teddy bear is a spare from the War of the Worlds Alien. The leaves were created using real leaves and a leaf stamp purchased from a Hobby Craft store (UK), and NO, I wasn’t going to do the whole tree covered in leaves (this time anyhow)!!!!!

The skull is a spare from the Moebius Dracula kit. I suppose the slight ‘bad-taste’ element is that the size of the skull combined with the teddy indicates that at least one meal was a child!

WOW! This is a breathtaking little scene. Sensational painting skills and the little extras make this a startling display.

Superb!

That is excellent work. The producers of the next "Dog Soldiers" movie should be calling you for work soon.

It's the Woodlands Scenics stuff - Water Effects or Realistic Water (always get the names mixed up :D ), it's the one you pour from a bottle and it (usually cures clear after a few hours). The other stuff they do is like a white pasted until it dries, this is good for creating ripples etc. but from past experience you have to use the pourable one first as it appears to react with the other.
