They've got a good sound, but for some reason, the lyrics just don't grab me.
I even checked out a few of their other songs, and the same thing.
Great sound, but nothing in the lyrics that hold my attention.

I've never really been a fan of the group.
But, I heard the new song by Trivium on the radio the other day.
I like it.

Yeah, that's not bad stuff. I'm not familiar with this group. Thanks for sharing this.

What almost happened once Sammy had had enough.

Uplifting for sure - and a 3-way cross between Van Hagar, Nelson & Journey.

Never heard of the fella before (Mitch Malloy) - but am for sure going digging over the weekend whilst pressy wrapping - LOVE this time of year! :D

Explanation (2 years old!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxF4WRORQ9s[/list]

  • Published on 8 Dec 2015 - "It’s 1996 and I’m invited, via a phone call from Eddie, to “hang out” with the band. After an amazing time in L.A., which included Ed saying, "congratulations you’re in the band", I'm leaving and he hands me a tape of an instrumental of the band and says, “turn this into a song”. Well, I did write that song, but never shared it with anyone out of respect for the band. But, 20 long years later, I decided that with the challenging times the world is having “It’s the Right Time” to share that uplifting song. Fans have wondered what I would sound like with Van Halen, now you will know. I hope you dig it. ROCK!"

Well, thanks to friends on FB I have been addicted to this Norwegian musician / producer named Leo Moracchioli.

My first taste was this video
It's a metal cover of the song Hello by Adele
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtQUJMBH8uE

I'd never heard the song before. I've heard of the original artist, and the song, but never heard either. But, when I watched this cover I was just blown away.
The song itself is great, but I am also mesmerized by the video. I just can't let it play in the background, I have to watch it.

For those who don't want to take a chance on a current pop song cover,
Here is what he did with Don't Fear the Reaper
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzpmKoqRXFc
Pretty much a straight up cover until about the 3 minute mark. After the solo it really goes heavy.

Or check out this cool vid of him doing 9 songs in 2 minutes

K - I HAVE to reply to this NOW even though I'm working my way through all sorts of his vids.

That Adele cover is awesome. I don't know the original so it drew me in quicker than those that I already DID know.

Having said that - I quite like his "DFT Reaper" - and his cover of "Superstition" is good too.

Off to listen to more.

PS: Is it just me - or does he look like Kripke from Big Bang Theory in that "Hello" cover ?!?!

The reason I've just listened to this for the first time ever should be apparent from the song title and the magical date of Feb 12th 2016.

My apologies for not checking out your link before (Christmas is often the only vacation I get each year and I use bits to play catch-up across all the forums).

First impressions - not too bad - they come over as a Spandau Ballet version of Prog rock.

Always hated Spandau when they were big (as Dee said of "new romantic" fans at the time - they hate us - so we hate them back) . . . but I grew to appreciate the quality vocals & musicianship as the years went by.

I'll add to that John.

"Bomber" has remained my fave Motorhead track even given all the other superb songs Lemmy & the guys wrote over the years.

Here's the live version from "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith" - recorded 26th Nov 1979 just 9 days after I saw them in Lancaster ("bomber" connection coincidental).

God's (Lemmy's) SPEED Mr. Kilmister - the world was made a better place by your presence.

Judas Priest as they firmly entered mainstream consciousness (1978).

REALLY unusual track for them.

I'd have to go with Unleased in the East, just for the scream of Victim of Change.

Thanks Trev.

That 2nd one is something special and - (although I usually don't look at Lzzy in "that" way) - the stocking tops in the 3rd vid are - well - nice :)

Did you go to this?

Sadly, no, I didn't see that show.
If I would have known she was gonna be there too, I probably would have found a ticket and the gas money to get there though.
A friend of mine from Tennessee drove up to see the show though.

I knew she and TSO were trying to work out some dates that she could pop in for.
Just never heard if they had announced any of them.
That might be the only one, because if I am not mistaken Halestorm are off to the UK to tour now.
