Re: What song caught your attention today?
I was never a REAL fan of Lee Aaron - too "throwaway hair metal" for my tastes - but she DID have a good voice.
New album "Fire And Gasoline" due out soon - and here's a new track.
You know what - she STILL has a good voice - and this leetel gem is the most catchy song I've ever heard her do.
The lady has added to the "junk in the trunk" in a minaj (who?) way, but (based on this) seems to have a LOT more street-cred now than she did in the 80's.
Give it a listen - trust me - and TRY not to tap your feet and smile

Re: What song caught your attention today?
Not so much today, I heard it on the radio at work Friday, and just remembered it.
Makes me think of simpler times.

Got turned onto these guys via Dee Snider's podcasts.
He said something like they embody the spirit Twisted Sister had up to (and when) they made it big with "We're Not Gonna Take It" et-all.
Great track from Monster Truck - Don't Tell Me How To Live

Re: What song caught your attention today?
Not so much a song, but I've been in 1981 mode today.
Listened to Blue Oyster Cult's - Fire of Unknown Origin
then Black Sabbath's - Mob Rules
Followed by Judas Priest - Stained Class
(I know it came out in 1978, but I didn't get it, or hear any of it until 1981, at which point, I played the heck out of that 8-track)

- • BOC - Can't comment (never heard the entire album) - only know Burnin' for you.
• Sabbath - The Sign of the Southern Cross - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf01BfM_lTo
• Priest - Beyond the Realms of Death - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y60Mo_Nmydg
The 1981 album for Priest was (as you know) "Point Of Entry" - my pick off that would be "Desert Plains".

Yeah, I bought that cassette when it came out.Heavy Metal Spike wrote: The 1981 album for Priest was (as you know) "Point Of Entry" - my pick off that would be "Desert Plains".

Then within a month, I traded it for the Stained Class 8-track.
I came out way ahead on that deal
You really need to check out that BOC album.
I'm sure you've heard this song before as well.

Veteran Of The Psychic Wars
It is part of the Heavy Metal soundtrack.
(and that link is part of a playlist of the whole album)

Well, I'm working my way through "Breaking Bad" and I'm in season 4. Gale's karaoke video has Peter Schilling's "Major Tom" stuck in my head now.

Maiden, April 10th 2016, Vancouver, BC, Canada . . . as said in another post
. . . Rogers "crappy sound depending on where you are" arena.
Blood Brothers + Wasted Years (last 2 songs of the gig) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aS1n5cn3DI
The fella who posted this was about 15 people to OUR right - but HIS camera is a lot steadier than my Son's was in MY hands
(too much jumping on my part).
Iron Maiden - LONG may they reign.

Re: What song caught your attention today?
There are SO many bands that I & my family love, and/or that have influenced and shaped our lives.
But if we HAD to pick ONE band - Scorpions would be IT.
My Wife & I have been trawling today - here's ONE we (and the kids) love (lyrics were not appropriate for us but we adore the song & vibe).

Sorry. That song just does nothing for me, even with those singers.Heavy Metal Spike wrote:Wut - REALLY Trev ?!? - no comment (appreciation) ?!?!Heavy Metal Spike wrote:Oh yeah - that durned Halestorm team again . . .

Now, this one OTOH grabbed me immediately when they played it live on Halestorm's FB feed.

At that time this song was also part of that feed

(I didn't link to the one from the same angel, as they cut the beginning bit when they split it up, and I actually enjoy that part a lot)

Yeah - saw those 2 - instantly forgettable (and actually ANNOYING) to me.
Weird we both love the lass but have totally opposite opinions about these 3 songs

Re: What song caught your attention today?
I think part of the influence on those last 2 songs is I was always a big fan of Lita.
Before she hit it big in the later 80's. I still love her first 2 albums, and enjoy Lita. All the 90's stuff is pretty forgettable though.
So seeing and hearing Lzzy and Lita on stage together is just like the perfect storm for me.
